So every single parcel I have ordered via Ebay has been delivered to a neighbour who is elderly and recovering from cancer. After the eighth occasion and after going round in circles with an auto-bot clearly intent on avoiding passing me onto a real person, I was finally advised they would ensure it won't happen again. Yet here I am, three mis-delivered items further and Evri, as usual, simply pass the buck to the seller or myself. Ebay, Evri are diabolical so why on earth do you use them? I am no longer shopping on Ebay, it's too unreliable

Because it's often the cheapest option and most customers are too stingy to pay extra for a better service.
That and 99% of the time there's no issue so long as the item is packed properly.
Also very easy to get compensated for lost/destroyed packages (through Packlink). They somehow destroyed one I sent last year and I'd been compensated in full within 4 hours. With Royal Mail it took over a month to sort out the same thing.

No, EVRi's not the worst. My FedEx International Priority Express parcel, weight around one kilo, shipping cost $62, is on a world-wide tour.
An emergency order, so my supplier shipped on Saturday May 18. Delivery was scheduled for Wednesday. Parcel arrived in Birmingham on Tuesday, out for delivery on Wednesday. Didn't arrive. The delivery date was updated to Tuesday May 28. It's Priority Express, cost $62, and they can't deliver to an address within five miles of the depot any earlier than Tuesday?
Late on Thursday the parcel arrived in Delhi. The delivery date was updated to 'On the Way'. On Friday, it had made its way to Dubai, still 'On the Way'.
Saturday, it made landfall at Stanstead. It's still 'On the Way', but on the way to where? New York? The Falklands?
I hope the supplier packed it well. It's had a tough journey.

Fully understand. I've been waiting for a painting I purchased for my mother's birthday. I spent many hours trying to find just the right one and It was sent on the 9th July and tracked to the Evri National hub on the 10th and then vanished!!! It's now the 22nd and nobody seems to really care. A fairly large painting, fully addressed and labelled yet no sign of it!!! One would expect Evri to perhaps put out a shout to all depots and parcel shops with the order number or simply my address details and yet no, that appears to be too much trouble in this digital age. Very disappointing and frustrating and in future I will ensure I do not purchase any items using their service unless I can get the seller to change - as for the painting I am still hoping it's found although it's difficult to understand how it was lost??? As for eBay they keep asking me 'how was your tracking experience? Take a wild guess...

That is very sad, and I do hope it turns up soon, but I'm afraid that in my experience it is typical of Evri. I won't use them - if they are listed as the courier I always ask if Royal Mail is possible instead, and nine times out of ten, the seller agrees to send via them.
Just lately I have noticed that an item has been listed as dispatched via Evri; I have contacted the seller with my usual query only to be told, "Evri? I never use them! I always send via the Royal Mail!"
Is this an ebay "cunning plan" to give the impression that more sellers are using the diabolical Evri than actually are?

You are so right. I will send message to ebay seller before ordering next package, an dmake sure to avoid Evri.. They have done it a few times to me already. Packages are stuck at depot for 5 days, and the humans there opted to have Online Robots to answer our questions. They say they answer back whitin 24 hours but they don't. Algorithms that dont provide a solution, or answer properly. Worst experience ever

Ebay international shipping uses Hermes/Evri by default. The seller has no choice.

This is exactly what happened to me. Evri are diabolical here, and if the listing shows Evri, I always ask a seller if it is poaaible to send via Royal Mail.
I ordered an item the other day, listed as Royal Mail, went to 'my ebay purchase history' to leave feedback last night and saw the item had been delivered! My first reaction was 'oh no, it hasn't!'
I was at home all day, and the postman had already called, so I was somewhat baffled. Then I saw that the item had been sent via Evri!! Where was it? On my front doorstep, where Evri always leave things - if they leave them at all.
The Evri individual couldn't be bothered to ring the perfectly obvious doorbell, just dumped the parcel on the front step on a main road.
It's time this "different courier from listing" nonsense was stopped - I feel dreadful that when a seller lists something as Royal Mail, I find myself virtually having to enquire if they are telling the truth. That is not good.
I feel like leaving negative feedback on the grounds that this item was not correctly listed. Am I being unreasonable? I just don't know. I do know I am thoroughly fed up with this happening.
