long story short i sold a caravan for collection
buyer didn't pay as the only option from ebay when listing was cash on collection
contact from buyer until day of collection came
i messaged him on ebay no reply
presuming he was traveling i gave him time,
the day after the arranged date they guy calls my number which i gave him to give me an eta on collection day. he calls shouting and swearing at me and threatening to "do me over!"
then sends a text on the same lines. i blocked his number blocked him on ebay and called the police
i have an incident number
i called ebay and they would not take the incident number but i wanted to let them know how abusive he was
i have just had an email from ebay confirming that as he didn't actually pay for the caravan there was no transaction as far as they were concerned and no action they could take against the buyer
seen as the transaction was done through ebay i think they are shirking responsibility a little and that is certainly not how the police see it
anyone else think he should be somehow dealt with via ebay?

This is outside of eBay's arena unless you've received abuse via an eBay message.
You do need to report this transaction as unpaid because you'll be charged a final value fee for it.
There’s a link on this eBay page:
Add them to your Blocked Buyer List with this link:

i have done all of this, thank you for the advice but i still fail to see why it is outside of ebay when the contact was begun within ebay. the only reason he had a contact number was to contact on the day of the collection. the sale and everything else went through ebay so how is it not their responsibility to penalise him in some way. god help the seller when he actually carries out these threats. he is a buyer on here so any one of you could be his next victim because, as you state it is outside of the remit. so there is no protection against treats, abuse and bullying within the ebay site when you sell large items that just have to be collected.... fine!

It's not because it was a large item that had to be collected, it's because ebay doesn't really care.
Buyers can behave badly whatever they purchase.
Abusive messages can be reported but you won't know what action they take, if any.

Leaving negative comments under a positive rating for a buyer is not the way to go.Buyers can easily get them removed which will earn you a damaging defect each time.

You cannot remove it, as it is under a positive feedback, these cannot be changed / removed.
If the buyer knows eBay rules, they could contact Customer Services, and it would be removed, and an account defect placed on your account.
