Re: sending invoice for combined items as done many times

I'd cancel all orders and relist as a job lot on one fixed price Buy It Now listing. That way there'll be just one postage price for the lot.

The problem with that surely is that until a buyer decides what multiple purchases they won’t you have to change the listing ? Or is there a way around multiple buying & the simple delivery issue ?
Thank you

All well and good unless somebody else comes along and  buys them first.

There are ways around that:

Make the listing title 'Listing for Joe (or whatever name)' or set a high buy it now price with Best Offer feature added and then the buyer makes an offer at the previously agreed price.

Not sure what you mean here, from the OP's opening post it looks like we're talking about sold items.

Do ebay financially compensate you for wasted time speaking to their CS?

Or indeed the time spent on making a new listing to abuse the ebay designed process?

Its all good and well mentors showing ways round ebays un-thought out rules, but what will happen when Mentors get blocked from the site for circumnavigating ebay created laws?

No, eBay don't compensate you for time spent, I think you'll be hard pushed to find any company that offers money for engaging with their CS dept. Can you think of one?

My advice to cancel orders and relist in one big job lot order is not an abuse of any eBay process and not circumnavigating eBay policy in any way, shape, or form. I've no idea why you think it might be. Until eBay have sorted out the combined invoice scenario it's simply a workaround and perfectly legit.

You really do need to quit trying to make a drama out of nothing at all, most of your posts are provocative and negative.

Oh sorry  you have misread my concerns - i was not aware ebay were still working on a solution to the combined invoice situation, its taking quite a while (many months from memory).

I believe some ebay sites have an ongoing 'faults board' so members can see what is being repaired and what not, so the member will know what affects them.

I was concerned for Mentors well being in maintaining their functions if they are contracting ebays prescriptions.

Mentors, i perceive, replaced the need for paid ebay staff to answer members questions, also Mentors were designed by their experience base to improve on the none UK CS - who generally are seen as having limited practical experience. This feeling is often endorsed by Mentors when Dublin contact is highly recommended.

Thank you for your continued efforts.

Apologies @a45heaven , I thought that you were saying that we were giving out workaround advice that we shouldn't be.

No ! not at all - you are providing workable solutions to members who have been thwarted by which ever ebay system malfunctions or where the designed system has not had any practical experience applied to it.

Out of curiosity is there a mechanism where by Mentors solutions or suggestions are discussed with 'someone' from ebay to assist in rectifying ailing process'?

Im often told that ebay dont even look at these boards, so that avenue of change / improvement ebay have chosen to rule out.

Im in the same boat with cherishing good buyer relations - i just hope they understand who the system problem lies with.

ebay have never been noted for communications , much more so with Buyers - See the recent BPF for a good example of that.

We have a 'mentors lounge' where we can discuss things with eBay staff and raise any issues. It's excellent and staff are very responsive to issues raised. Much info is passed on to relevant teams.

see a positive - well maybe - shame no active board for members to see whats going with issues you pass on on rather than kept in the dark.

It sounds kinda like the Community Managers passing issues to 'Teams' from the  Community Chat hour, but not always obvious the team make any actions?
