sellers simple delivery buyers are messaging me to say they could not choose Royal Mail only evri

I am selling and stuck with the new ebay simple delivery, but my buyers are messaging me to say that they did not have the choice between royal mail and Evri which they should have had, and that they were stuck with evri

Many are not happy with Evri

Is there a way around this? should I include the postage myself and include this in the selling price, therefore listing the item as free postage, however this will add more to the buyers fee. 

Any suggestions?

Buyers cannot select the carrier on listings, the only choice is standard or express delivery

 

You can remove Evri as an option on all your listings here https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/prf/simpledelivery

Buyers only see 'standard delivery' and 'express delivery '. It is ebay who choose which carrier. You can opt out from Evri in your settings. If you decide to list with free delivery and add the cost into your price, you will automatically be supplied with a label and money deducted from your sale by ebay. The only way to get that label refunded by ebay is to use a tracked service when sending the item and filling in a claim showing that you met ebays conditions for getting the refund. The claim needs to be made within 14 days. There are many who have not received their label refunds despite following the conditions carefully.

This is one of the many annoyances with Simple Delivery. The only way to ensure your buyer will get Royal Mail, is to exclude Evri. But if you exclude a courier, it puts the postage price up...

 

I'm sure a lot of buyers find it very odd & confusing that they are not told what courier will be delivering their parcel, before purchasing the item. If the seller has opted for both couriers, Simple Delivery will almost inevitably select Evri... but not all buyers realise this.

As a buyer, it is annoying beyond belief not to know the courier until its too late. Evri here are truly dreadful & I wouldn't ever use them given a choice. 
My three ebay purchases this month have all been allocated to Evri. I have just been refunded for the third non-delivery. One package was clearly photographed in our open lobby (under the sign saying "DO NOT LEAVE PARCELS HERE - INSECURE AREA". Yet by the time I got the message 5 minutes later, it had vanished. 
Hopeless. And do EVRI listen? Not a chance.

Just wanted to add that if you remove Evri, there is still a chance for Evri to be selected as the courier. This is because in certain cases, if the carrier in question can't accept your item, we will provide you with a label for a carrier you've opted out of in your settings. For example, if your parcel exceeds your preferred carrier's size or weight limits, we may send your item with an alternative carrier.
