Trainers returned by ebay. No reason given why?

Anyone had any experience of this? I'm now stuck with a perfectly legit pair of trainers, that the buyer still wanted, and their negative feedback. I contacted ebay, but unsurprisingly, no reply. All I could think of was the box was not the original, but this was stated in the auction. Vinted here we come.

Yes, I think your mistake was including a different box, but I would've thought that the authenticator should provide a reason as to why they failed the authentication process and were returned. Puzzled.

Legit items can fail Authenticity Guarantee if you do not follow eBay's FAQ guidelines. For example, including anything that did not originally come with the shoes will cause them to fail (see Customized). Also used shoes need to come with a complete description of any faults or wear, as under-describing will also cause them to fail. Where ever you choose to sell these, best to relist them without the box.

You can find out the reason it failed by looking into the item purchase page and then in the returns you can expand it and it'll tell you. Also phone customer services, ask to speak to the Authentication Guarantee department, they will then ask you for an item/order number once they see it went via AGS they will transfer you to the Irish team who then will have the notes and can ask the actual authenticator for the exact reason if its not in the notes. The AGS team work 7 days a week until 7pm (i believe) but for some reason some of the customer service agents think they are 5 days and finish at 4:30pm so if they tell you that don't believe them.

Not sure who you tried to speak to when you got no response but thats the route I've taken hundreds of times and its never failed, thankfully not many for failures but some have been mental reasons like the box lid has a 5mm rip so they failed it and said I should list with faults.
