item not recieved case

hi on december  18th  i had an item listed it had one bid on it. i decided in plenty of time to cancel bids and put it up as buy it now to a different buyer than the only bidder. he paid and i posted all good he received the item. no problems. on the 5th january the bidder who i cancelled has opened a not recieved case. he says he paid and has proof but the payment doesnt show up anywhere on my ebay or even on my paypal, any ides whats gone wrong guys. tia

if its the Joan of Arc it looks like you ended the auction without cancelling the bid, so you sold to the highest bidder.

He would only be able to open a case if he had paid for it. Check your sold items. If he has indeed brought it then you will need to refund him.

Hi yes ive confirmed thats the case now i dont know why i couldnt find it at first . A bit confusing altho i can still find no evidence of payment. The buyer is being refunded and its only a small amount but thanks for the reply.

Hi marco thanks for that but i know now that i didnt cancel the bid but thought i had ,should have checked . Ive now refunded the guy and the mystery of the non payment is of no consequence but thanks for your offer to help. Regards
