Ebay is now forcing me into SD with no custom delivery option
The largest postage offered under SD is 61cm
There seems to be no way to list anything over 61cm and get the correct postage, even if you declare the dimensions in the listing height, width etc
anyone figured out what to do or does ebay just want us to take large items elsewhere?

Well, I for one am unable to list large items and only get the 61cm max.
I tried the £800 thing above...which does bring up sizing boxes and other postage options, but reverts right back when I change the item price.
I have had to change all my current listed items to collection only, which of course means I will be unlikley to sell.
Ebay drive me insane....Ive been buying & selling for over 20 years and with the intro of the moronic 'buyer protection fee' and 'simple delivery' they have pretty much destroyed what was a usable platform.

Have you tried using 'sell similar' on an item that still has custom postage?
That works for me, it's only brand new listings that revert right back to SD as you describe.

Are you using the original workaround from this thread or the new one w.e.f. 06/08/25? ( post 160 above )

Thanks! Your advice works, although if you try to reduce your price now, it's automatically setting back to SIMPLE DELIVERY 🙄🤣 Does Ebay not realise that "Private Sellers" make their "Business".

You absolute star!

It does work! you have to do every step, especially your policies, then it will not revert to simpleton delivery. I have listed with it.

If it helps anyone I just spoke to customer support about this because the workaround didn't work for me. They said I should use simple delivery, ensure that only Evri was selected and choose the biggest size available but the correct weight. They said Ebay have an agreement with Evri that Evri will accept items over the size limit (we'll see when the auction ends)

Which workaround?
The latest workaround was got at by ebay and my listing was converted to simpleton delivery, see https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/How-do-you-list-anything-bigger-than-61cm-Part-two/m-...

I cannot get this to work for me. in my case two car doors on a pallet clearly is over the medium parcel threshold. Every time i change the price back down the delivery reverts to simple...as in its not simple.

You have to follow the workaround exactly, Do not miss out a step. This workaround is on its way out as people are changed over after the 06/08/25 changes. You have to change to the new workaround then but this may not be holding up for long either as ebay bring in the means to list larger items. ( at last )

Hello All.
I just noted the 'oversized' category added back in eBay delivery options! I haven't clicked and tried it yet, but seeing it back there is a good start. Hope it works

Honestly this must be costing eBay a fortune in support calls and "disputes" which aren't really disputes. For the first time in decades I had something trashed by ParcelForce and I had followed eBay's advice on it - but it was oversize for any options offered.
It would have been so easy to keep the "custom" or "advanced" feature for categories where few items fit in the 61cm. I have no issue using Simple Delivery for items that fit in the allowed range of size and weight - but even Parcelforce can't make a synthesizer keyboard 61cm wide despite their best efforts...

This does not seem to work any more. Setting price to £800 now just gives an option to set size but this has no effect after setting the price back. ( 19/08/2025

That workaround no longer works, as soon as you reduce the price, simple delivery pops back up!

Today ( 19/08/2025) I wanted to list an item 83 cm long. I tried the trick of setting the price to £800 but the size settings are now just an option and have no effect as before. When you reset the price, it goes back to SD.
I contacted ebay help. The person suggested using Evri (obvious, been doing that for years) . I pointed out that this will change all my listings to Evri but he said it would not.
Sure enough, when opting to evri and not RM, it stated that all my listings would change
I went back to ebay help and a more helpful person confirmed that it would change all my lisitngs. She then suggested setting the price to £800 , etc. I interrupted her and said that no longer works. She then went away for 4 minutes and then suggested: set the price higher with seller pays postage then when sold, cancel the label !!. My plan B exactly.
Apparently, on 28th Aug. DHL will be introduced . Whether this also means we can choose a different courier for each listing remains to be seen

DHL is already present in some categories - up to 120cm x 80 x 80 and 30kg - plus I found the computer category now allows sensible postage again (i.e. ParcelForce 24 150cm) - there are two extra boxes on the Simple Delivery box allowing "larger items" and "bulky like home keyboards" - I guess we complained enough, though I'd been told a few times DHL was incoming to solve the large item issues.

I can't be the only person who thinks this whole pile of get-arounds etc is completely insane....?
This is a site to sell things on.... why have they made it sooo effin difficult? And if we can't sell, they don't make money....!
(Sorry, ..having a bad day and this max size carp has finally just tipped me into shouting at the lap-top screen 😤 😠 )

This is the old workaround? Have you tried the new one for the listing changes post 06/08/25? I have to use the new one myself since then. I can't use this old one anymore.
Are you setting the size and weight above the maximum that DHL will take now that they are on board?
I am surprised that this one has lasted this long!
20-08-2025 1:48 PM
Thank you. Set weight and size above the now DHL limits and it worked
20-08-2025 5:26 PM
For me, this does not work. As soon as I change the price back down to under £800, it reverts to the SD options.
