Hi I've just received this message contacted ebay and is being sent to everyone
That's me I'm done no more ebay for me bye bye
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 48 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.

its legal to use other peoples money on stocks and shares and claim intrest on without prior written consent ?
is it really
if it is their money in the first place yes
but as it is not their money in the first place i very much doubt it
i shall have to look into this
maybe ebay found a loophole in the system they can exploit
("like they are not used to exploiting")
come back paypal all is forgiven

I am selling postal stamps from my private collection. Decision made by ebay change everything for me. I decided to update my account to business as then advice. I didn't have access to my balance for first 2 days and then I found that ebay charge me £87 for relisting my ended items. Most of the items I sale for minimum what is £0.99. I decided to remove my all listening same time as I found how bad decision I made. Ebay give me bad advice. It's the worst customer service I ever speak to. Indian lady located abroad. I should have 14 days cooling time to change my mind but they don't want to respect law in the country where they run the business. Finally, I decided to stop selling items on ebay. I am not stupid to pay around £700 a month just for insertion fees.

@goodibags wrote:@andha-21 Hi,
I lost the discussion where this was being discussed in detail but how do you feel about Payment Retention being brought in for ALL private sellers when buyer fees were only being charged on Electronic items (Thurs 6th)? These were originally intended to start together.
I sold 5 items since then and not one has incurred the new BPFs but my payments are being retained anyway. There'll be many other sellers in the same boat, BPF still hasn't reached all categories.
I know we're all just Ebay 'suppliers' these days but if Ebay was not technically the 'seller' (before their protection 'service' started) then isn't it a bit dodgy for them to be sitting on the money?
Hi there and I'll definitely have a look at this a bit later. Sorry, but wiped right now. Need a coffee and rest first.
Oh and did you read the terms & conditions for March 17th? I skimmed it earlier but don't know if I missed anything worth focusing on.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll need to check those out.
It's still over a month away but I'll need to order the correct-sized 'operative/slave' uniform that fits. 😀

5 items your lucky
i have found that since i have been posting what some would call ("subversive remarks") on the here
my sales have bottomed out
maybe its ebay sending me a message to shut up and deal with it
ie: like it or lump it ("just showing me whos in control of your listings")
time to find another platform a guess

It was me with the 5 sales since payment retention came in.
And it won't be your 'subversive' remarks. I give Ebay a hard time too, but am grateful that my buyers don't seem to wander down here into the (community) basement.
Hopefully your sales will pick up as more users are able to log in again?

"EBAY ARE NOT A BANK
THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO HOLD ONTO OTHER PEOPLES MONEY"
They don't; they use Adyen who are an acquiring bank and process all payments. The money will be held by Adyen until disbursement.
"what ebay are doing IS ilegal" - try again.

I misread that as 'I'm currently dating a customer'.
... which would, probably, be taking things TOO far. 😁

If it was Charlize Theron, I'd disagree.
13-02-2025 6:16 PM
Sorry, she hasn't bought anything off Ebay for literally days!

payment following delivery mmmmm
so even if the tracking says its been delivered and the customer is saying it has not
so where is the seller rotection in this senario ?
it is already well known about the amount of frausters on ebay claiming the item undelivered
do you not think in this day and age
with everybody penny pinching this is not going to happen more?
totally agreed i to am always professional with all my buyers
and all my items are treated with the upmost urgency
but it still does not give ebay the right to hold onto peoples money
ebay was always known for a quick sale and quick money via paypal
have ebay not noticed the drop in people searching
or even selling since they drop paypal
might as well build myself a website and sell from there
just use ebay as a affiliate website to post my link on
like they do with us

mmmm even adyen is based in the netherlands
is not the netherlands where most of the scams come out from?

ive ended all my listing now . and advertising else where

Sorry I'm knackered but I have a vague memory the new managed payment timeframes were to do with the delivery side. Why they allowed items valued under £10 a different set of rules.
So as I understood it the factors were customer feedback and proof of delivery but I'm virtually asleep so I may be forgetting something.

not your job to ask your customer if its arrived
about time ebay cs did their job
i think its about time ebay listed what their actual fees pay for
ie i get a itemised coulcil tax bill
what ebay cannot do the same
probably just got used to ebay getting money for nothing

Just had a conversation with eBay. Apparently, even though the buyer has left positive feedback, that isn't sufficient proof of delivery confirmation. You have to send an item tracked (mine sold for a fiver, so it wasn't worth paying extra for the postage) or you don't get your funds released. Presumably if the buyer pays for an aeroplane trailing a banner saying "Thank you for the CD it's great" that isn't sufficient proof of delivery either?

Customer feedback is not considered sufficient proof of delivery - it has to be tracked for your funds to be released.
