and that is why i will not be doing it - i will only use RM 2nd class (signed for if higher priced but i do not have many of those), i have never had a problem so far in the nearly 10 years i have been selling doing that and i am not messing around now.

i will wait until the Feb 4th changes come in as i am not too bothered about them but not the simple delivery, then i will be gone.

lucky you, we have a half mile farm track and the courier refuses to go off the main road (we are not the only ones he does it too) but then lies and says no one in etc..

you get paid regardless after 14 days, you get paid earlier if the tracking shows delivered.

i have said the same thing, at least we all knew where we were and were in control of some things like deciding who to post with!

i think the response was because some people are indicating that you have to have confirmed delivery before they will pay out and that is not the case, you may have to wait two weeks (agreed not good) but at least you know you will get it.

We are relying on eBay to confirm delivery before being being paid. This is
where it goes really wrong for sellers as I'm sure you know many delivered
items aren't marked as delivered on eBay. Not for 1 minute do I think that
eBay will be attempted to confirm delivery & actually we'll see more sold
items showing as undelivered with blame being passed to the couriers. We
all have registered bank accounts for any outstanding costs.There isn't any
courier system that's trustworthy & the bottom line is sellers will rely on
fast deliveries that are marked as delivered on eBay. I can see that
happening & don't think ebay wants that to happen as the longer they retain
the money the better ♥️

The 2 weeks just gives buyers a bigger window to think oh I don't like this and make a fuss to return, as they will know we don't get our funds like we used to! Basically it makes is more awkward for me in the long run.....

I'm wondering if the average buyer would know that there was a potential 2 week delay for  sellers,  after they've paid for their item.

If I was just a buyer on eBay, not necessarily visiting these boards,  don't think I would know when or where, or why any delay was present to my payment,  after I had paid a seller.

There are always some nasty buyers on Ebay, I've encountered them on more than one occasion, who will try their best to get one over on a seller

Agree , the bad apple amongst the good, and thankfully the lesser,  will always be there to try and scam a person.  They are there now , and will be in the future,  no matter what system is in place.

Thankfully,  there are more good peeps than bad  'uns in this world 😊

I wonder how many buyers will keep an eye on the tracking and if delayed delivery or not delivered correctly i.e in hand...  will abuse the system or decide they no longer want the item after a day...and eBay having no qualms to either hold on to your funds longer or to  refund your funds for your items sold...immediately due to their automated system/A.I  ...one which we have actually all "trained!" And one where we the seller have no comeback? 

It is a stealth tax and daylight robbery whilst eBay and their shareholders/investors smile all the way to the bank. 

We are being controlled and treated like children! 

 BPF  is to offset the " free to sell" which we never asked for and cover it by offering a 24/7 customer support service for buyers,  because all I can see is the it is penalising  the sellers and charging buyers for something that they may never need or use!  

Word salad - Buyer Protection Fee - Buyer Protection Services - what is it actually " protecting"... Nothing but your funds in their high interest account for as long as they deem fit, but wait " pending" funds you can still purchase their postal labels and send refunds from it.. so it is restricting you from receiving your full funds for a sale of your item , whilst you sit and wait for a " considered successful delivery"... one which they still have not clarified what deems to be just that... after which another 48 hours are to pass or more ( untracked 14 minimum)  ...The more I read of  their "policies" the more I cannot get away from the feeling of " gangsters in suits?"... 

eBay need to remember that it is the people that helped to build what it is today, and without anyone to do their " bidding" there would be no platform.

I see on the Vinted site it's 2 days hold on the money but 14 days hold for a pro seller. I guess that includes business sellers. The opposite to what ebay are going to do.

Yeah it is, can be nearly 3 weeks to get paid which is not ideal but can be a nice surprise if you forgot about it.

Yes this change sucks hard. 

so now as a private seller I can’t sell anything unless I have funds available. 

why? 

because I won’t even release the money to purchase a postage label. So I have to front the postage and wait for it to come back in. 

imagine having an annual clear out and selling 20 odd items.  I have to pay out for all those postage costs. 

this  also meaning I’m not offering budget slow postage any more as I don’t want to wait for my money. 

a real sucker move in my opinion.

If you can't afford to front the postage cost what will you do if a buyer makes a claim against you?  You will need to refund from somewhere.
