Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

"Instead of moaning in a soundproof prison and hoping the meals will improve, we need to focus on getting out and finding better restaurants"
Metaphorically, that won't work. If we head to the restaurants they'll only be waiting for us there. We're better off dashing to the airport.

It makes more people use ebay postage which they decide so it costs you more so you have to make sure your charging enough postage I got caught with this the other day ebay says postage should be 3.95 I charged 3.95 postage cost 5.45 putting me out of pocket I never charge packaging but I do charge postage and if ebay says it'll cost one thing then it costs me more I'm out of pocket thanks ebay
As you discovered, it's never been a good idea to rely on eBay’s postage estimates when listing.

Doesn't bode well then for Private sellers when Simple Delivery is made compulsory. 🙄

Maybe business sellers should take actions now for when the greed bags make it compulsory for them too.

They will certainly have to do more before listing, in terms of packing, weighing, and measuring, but if they do all that correctly the postage should be right.

yes in deed, all my items are low priced and to pay tracked items can be same price. i have to see how this go`s...

This announcement made a few days ago may help with your items priced below £10.
We’ve also heard your feedback and understand that shipping costs are particularly top of mind for low price items. When you’re selling a single item for £10 or less, and it’s sent untracked, funds will now be available 24 hours after you receive positive buyer feedback. This will be live by the end of February.
Yep, I know, most buyers do not leave feedback, and I would never usually recommend this, but sending the buyer a polite message, asking if they would kindly leave some feedback, explaining with eBay's new rules, payouts from sales are not released until a buyer leaves feedback.

This is yet another complete joke.
Don't think many people who buy a £4 item would even bother coming back again to leave feedback, especially if they aren't happy or buy it to resell it dearer and don't want people to see where it originally came from !
I've totally given up on selling on eBay now. This super slow payments setup and soon to be compulsory managed delivery just won't work well for me at all...

I would suggest people look at the 2015 Consumer Relations Act, there is a guide to what it means and as far as I can tell Ebay UK are in contravention of this act as the act states that a policy may not adversely affect a particular group of customers

If you have totally gave up on Ebay, why do you keep posting derogatory remarks about Ebay on these pages?
Many of use are happy continuing selling on this platform.
Please give it a rest and use your time more wisely, THANKS

Isn't that the basic reason ebay is in decline?
The board isn't any longer even interested in who sells what on ebay, they're far more interested in playing monopoly with Venture Capital , Corporate Wealth Management Funds and how ebay's share price is holding-up.
Does Pierre own a light-pen these days, would he even know how to go about selling it on ebay? Does he care if ebay implodes? Without doubt his millions are safely spread out to make his fortune safely bomb-proof. I wonder how many shares he has in etsy or amazon? Why should he worry about ebay? As long as sellers keep selling on any platform, he's still getting dividends, no matter how much worse their policies make "the experience" for the 'members'.

Do you have shares in eBay ?... You seem to go out of your way to always defend it like you own it !
The service on eBay has really gone to the dogs and you don't want honest posts and true feedback.

There is no such Act. Do you mean the Consumer Rights Act 2015?
If so, could you link to the guidance you refer to?

TRUE.

Oh wow. We both stopped off at the same post. I was coming back to it.
The obvious angle I see is the disabled & how the Simple Delivery system may directly interfere with their abilities to sell.
