The new when we get paid rules from February.

Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.

And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.  

This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

My tracking looks the same for my sale. ‘Number provided’ with a blank timeline on eBay, but showing as delivered with handover photo and map on the Royal Mail website. I didn’t get any of the usual RM tracking emails though so its not all ebay’s fault this time.

And in the US, there is an ongoing Federal Trade Commission lawsuit filed against Meta for similar antitrust/anti-competitive issues which is heading to trial in April and in which eBay was specifically brought up when business records were subpoenaed as part of the discovery process last yeaur.

definitely agree about checking the bill to make sure they have not added any 'extras' and for service charges,  if they are included then no tip but generally will not go anywhere where there is a service charge.

i do not actually agree, most of my clothes are under a £5 already and they do not move very quickly, that in itself does not bother me as i am selling to get rid not as a business but i can see that what someone may pay £3 for they would not be willing to pay nearly £5 for, that is just the nature of common second hand clothes selling.   Same on the car boot, you can sell nearly anything for £1/2 but put a £3 label on and it just sits there!

That £3 will be £3.87 from the 4th not nearly £5. 

It's £3 plus 4% plus 75p.

Ebay tracking states my parcel has still not been delivered and on visiting Royal Mail website I can see it was delivered the next day with the signature.  So cannot see how this will work out well for sellers after the 4th Feb.

Payment will be made after 14 days if no complaints from the buyer. 

CS callback is going to be indundated  with…lets say ‘concerned’ sellers when this happens with tracking, which as we all know, it does all too often.

Exactly... Is it a coincidence with the new introduction 24/7 customer service for Buyers?

Do eBay expect an avalanche of  " concerned" buyers whilst they hold on to private sellers " funds?'

I think I will be diversifying to every free to list platform with prices adjusted according to whatever their cut is, unless they are prescriptive around payments or shipping choice.

I've been considering Etsy for some of my products and will likely put my most popular items on there, and ensure I stay under the limits for their forced external promotions.

I've tried Amazon before, but they are too loose with returns, so that would be a non starter for made to order items.

Amazon looser than ebay with returns?  Can you say more on that?  I'm astonished.  I can't imagine any platform that makes it easier than ebay for an evil buyer to return and get a full refund.  Even if they don't return the same item they received.  What can be looser than that?

A selfie should update on eBay as soon as it's scanned by postman. eBay
have same access to Royal Mail & should look to it's been delivered but on
the plus side if they don't you still have delivery proof ♥️

The information the CS agent provided for you concerning this new dept. which does sound good I admit, however,  it applies to the here and now.

When Simple Delivery appears mandatory for Private sellers anytime we are told, before the end of March, then only tracking showing delivery will count,  and will release the payout for that item 2 days after the item was shown to be delivered.  With no tracking showing that delivery,  payouts will be held for 14 days.

No feedback left,  no phone calls to any new, well meaning department will release that payout sooner, when Simple Delivery is mandatory.....   for Private Sellers.

There may well be an opportunity to get ebay to look at courier tracking that does show delivery even when ebay tracking does not, and hence get funds released before 14 days.

But they won't release it earlier for any other reason.

Me also , i box stuff up after selling as i use whatever boxes i can find , recycling from tesco etc.

I have been listing my brothers collection of toy cars he no longer wants and only sell about 15% of my listings at a time but under the new system i would have to box them up first!  Also what about combined sales? I combine items for buyers to save them on postage , how will this work?

Best bet is register correctly as a business seller than than the new rules will not apply, only snag the fees are much higher.
