Simple delivery wrong label

After faffing around with 'simple delivery' (been here 24 years) II listed an item which eBbay decided would charge the customer either £3.38 or £4.00 depending which service the customer wanted.

Ok I'll go with that...then the item sells . Buyer selected Standard Tracked Delivery via Royal Mail.

So print label or use QR code. I'll print the label -that's what I've always done. I click on print label - it sends link to email, I open it and what does it read? 48hr tracked. OK but then I check the invoice generated by ebay customer has been charged £4.29.

Hold on a minute...48 hr tracked is £3.45.

So the customer has paid for a 24hr service but eBay generated a 48hr service label which I hadn't got the option to change.

The customer has been short changed and when it doesn't arrive in 24 hrs - who will get it in the neck??

I know it's a faff, but could you add some screenshots. Its better to document everything or they think we are stupidly getting it wrong. I have only use SD a couple of items and didn't look at it in detail. If you are right, and i don't doubt you, this is an important point you raise.

It was posted last week and arrived today. No screen shots to show as you know what a 48 tracked label looks like, and for privacy I wouldn't show customers invoice. eBay customer service is investigating.

I think the OP has made an error with what they have written.

The item was listed at 3.99 - this would be how much the seller received.

I am sure the buyer was charged £4.29 - posted from the listing of 3.38 + BPF of 91p (4% + 75p)

If you come back to your post. can you check the order details to see if this is what happened?

Simple delivery wrong label

My items for sale were £3.95 each and the customer bought 2.

Buyer Protection fee
-£0.63
Postage
-£4.29*
VAT
-£0.86
As you see collected £4.29 for postage but eBay system generated a 48hr tracked label which is £3.35

If the customer bought 2 they would of had the postage cost combined for the 2 items instead of being charged 3.38 each.

Ebay has come up with figure (don't know how) for the combined postage of 4.29 plus vat.

You said in the opening post  "Buyer selected Standard Tracked Delivery via Royal Mail."

Standard tracked is 48hr express is 24hr

Sorry to labour the point, but can you screenshot from the order details?

BPF would not have been 63p as it is (was then) 4% + 72p per item. (Should have been 75p but only 72p was charged.)

Some of my BPF amounts changed on my multi order listing before we got the email about the changes.

I just thought it was worked out wrong then we go the email.

So maybe some were changed before we got the update
