I list a few things on ebay occasionally, but this new simple delivery is just rubbish for sellers. It assumes that ebay actually know the size and weight of items And that everyone can easily get to Evri or other courier services easily. Why did they have to stop the seller from deciding how to post items? Put me right off bothering to use Ebay.

To what end? to pay 30% more fees? Receive the same rubbish service with slightly less inconvenience?

Not attempted to sell anything since these changes in April, so don't know why I now bother looking at eBay, could it be because I am retired or maybe me doing it for years habit!
Keep asking myself what am I doing looking, I have certainly no intention ever trying to use this dreaded Simple delivery.
I wonder why eBay introduced Simple delivery was it that sellers were fiddling in some way when posting goods? or "God forbid" could it be eBay want to skim extra funds from their loyal customers?
Send your answers on a stamped addressed envelope "OOPS" sorry I mean by a Simple delivery envelope, but please do not forget the label!!!

Terrible new Selling system on Ebay now, I didn't mind paying a fee to Ebay when i sold something but now they say they are not charging us selling fees but they are still adding on to our Retail price plus this new *bleep* postage system!!!

Ebay is just getting worse. Simple delivery is anything but, Evri used to be good until ebay messed it up been waiting around 10 days for an item and its still at the sellers hub with no further info.

Is that £10 threshold how much it sells for or how much I get paid? I price my items that round up to the normal amounts £9.98 with free post. I only get around £8 out of which I pay the postage.
Sorry it if sounds a bit dim but it used to be a lot easier!🤔

yes, and this can add up to 10-15% for items under 10 quid. insane. then you spend 1.55 on postage. whoosh, money gone. nothing like, they, we got a contract with royal mail, and we can offer discounted prices on all RM labels. F no, they even charge MORE and add 20% on the labels as well.

It’s on the £10 and under selling price

The option to opt out and select Custom postage instead will only be available for letter-sized items in the specific categories below that are priced £10 and under. The £10 limit applies to the item price only and excludes the Buyer Protection Fee.

I think the big sellers like world of books might have something to say. How do they deal with Simple Delivery?
World of Books going to be nipping down the local post office with a few Lutons every evening!

Have just sold an item at auction, when I originally listed it I had chosen the box where buyer can choose their courior and which service (,standard delivery or click and collect ) I had included both Evri and Royal Mail as options. When I came to print the label it was for evri last item he bought from me (last week) he requested Royal Mail. I queried why the change and he said although he preferred RM he wasn't given the choice when it came to pay. Have ebay now taken the choice away?

indeed it does.
In the case of who they were responding to. Do you think it feasible they have a personal collection of new spare bathroom fittings?

They weren't responding to you. Looks like you are selling old toys so should be OK as you are (apart from the fact you are beholden to Simple Delivery and BPF).

If the previous item wasn't Simple Delivery and the new one is SD, then the answer is yes.
If they were both SD, then ebay has just chosen RM last time and Evri this time - the buyer can't literally choose which courier they want for SD items - (although choosing Standard or Express may have some influence.)

I have experimented with standard delivery and express delivery as a buyer under Simpleton Delivery - each time I have selected standard at checkout the delivery has been by Evri ( Only just - dumped outside gate ) and when I have selected express the delivery has been by Royal Mail 24.
Not a very large sample - only 1/2 a dozen items but this appears to be the trend so far.

I had Evri deliver an order to me this week. It was delivered at my front door, in full view of the street and right under the sign we have on the front door saying ‘All deliveries to the back door please’ 🙄 We don’t even have a letterbox at the front door, same as most houses in the street (terraced houses). Our safe place is at the back door as we have a porch there.
