Simple delivery is awful

I list a few things on ebay occasionally, but this new simple delivery is just rubbish for sellers. It assumes that ebay actually know the size and weight of items And that everyone can easily get to Evri or other courier services easily. Why did they have to stop the seller from deciding how to post items? Put me right off bothering to use Ebay.

Not any more you can't. Simplee delivery is the only option now.

well, here is something else to think about. you would be charged 2.70 by RM, VAT included, yet ebay charges you for 3.42 for the very same and dares to add another VAT on it, like it's their wicked product and they added any value to it. That's how great this trash fiesta is. 

Won't even get into the forced tracking of items over a tenner. 3.42 vs 1.55 and they think buyers will suck it up.

But you could easily avoid simple delivery by upgrading to a business, then you could send all those mobiles by whatever posting method you deemed fit.

Yes I've had awful problems with it .

I've actually lost money.

Problem with a QR code meant I had to pay for postage, felt obliged as buyer had paid for item so lost me money.

Wasted half a day phoning E bay customer services who were unable to help.

Had two problems and it really stressed me out, can't risk it going wrong again and going  through all the stress again so have decided not to use eBay in the future.

A pity it was so easy before.

Its sad you think customer service is a dying art. I encourage you to not give up on it since I am both a hapless buyer and seller.

Have taken items off now, I sell for myself and odd items for local charity
shol if the ladies not sure if value.... No more though unless simple
delivery is scraped

Just been put on Simple Delivery and it is AWFUL!!!  Ebay changes your large letter listings to small parcel, changes your dispatch window from 5 days to 2 (I've changed them all to 3), you can only use one type of delivery - it's either RM or Evri and you can't just send one item with Evri.  And that's just with this morning's woes!

Diabolical!  And it's certainly not Simples!

It’s possible if your items are large letter they qualify for custom postage

they need to be under £10 in price , under 100g and in certain approved categories 

not really satisfactory but it’s something

from Ebay before I closed my account got a royal mail slip yesterday saying the item doesn't have the correct postage and had to pay an extra £5
shows simple payment doesn't worki I. Can see
allot of buyers giving bad feedback due to incorrect postage when it not the sellers fault but eBay

Are you sure it was sent using Simple Delivery?  There shouldn't be any surcharges to the buyers with Simple Delivery as eBay's contract with the carrier is based on averages, not actuals, and any size/weight discrepancies will just be monitored and taken into consideration when the contract is next reviewed.

 I don’t know if your choice of brewery was intentionally significant, but it was certainly a good one to pick.  In 2023, Bud Light ran a controversial marketing campaign which resulted in a boycott, leading to sales nose-diving and shares losing 20% of their value.  The Vice-President and another executive had to fall on their swords and the campaign had to be ditched.  Apparently the company is still feeling the effects.  It’s all on Wikipedia - search for Bud Light Boycott.  If only ebay would take note.

I have been registered with eBay of over 25 years and have a 5000+ 100% eBay feedback rating.  This Simple Delivery is absolutely rank and not fit for purpose.  I was told that I could arrange a Royal Mail collection using simple delivery... I could, but I would have to go onto the RM website and book it at a cost of 30p.  Also, when selling multiple times for the same listing it will overcharge postage - to the buyer as eBay collects that directly from them!   So, how is this making eBayers lives easier?  The answer is that it in not - it is making their lives a misery.   At least give sellers back the option of Custom Delivery until you can make Simple delivery work to, better still, cast it into the Devil's inferno where it belongs.

I've not tried it but as of about 10 days ago, you can apparently arrange a RM collection for RM SD items, including them bringing the label with them; all on the ebay site.

AWFUL is a kind word for it. its  a disaster **bleep** since its introduction in April its stopped me listing anything,  what I sold before I sent by just putting a stamp on an  envelope and posting with Royal Mail never a problem.

Now I would be messing about and wasting my time printing out labels and even paying out more for the privilege sorry its not worth it for the items I sell.

totally agree,  I hope another platform will come along as I would be off in a shot,  simple delivery is nothing but total cr*p,  once again eBay is getting more and more greedy and offering sellers less and less and less,  I do think it is not really worth selling on eBay these days

But you could easily upgrade to a business account and not have to use simple delivery
