Simple Delivery

I still live in hope that they will scrap Simple Delivery or at least let sellers choose the  postage service they wish to use which was always Royal Mail for me, I did not mind the trip to my local post office 2 or 3 times a week and never had any issues with items not arriving ,those were the days.

Do you know that you can choose to use only Royal Mail for your Simple Delivery items? That way you can still have regular visits to your local post office. Mine seems to appreciate the SD labels, which are easier for them.

I can’t see them scrapping it but if they’re wise they will work to make the whole postage system work well with simple and custom delivery 

at the moment it’s abysmal at best , failed or mature endeavour run by amateurs

Unfortunately, only Royal Mail Tracked services are available with Simple Delivery, so sellers are no longer able to use RM 1st & 2nd class postage, or postage stamps, or Special Delivery & Signed For services.

probably do not get the same return for the transactions though!  Not to mention that i rarely used tracked and had no items go missing.  My items were all lowish value and family stuff and i would rather suck up the loss of an odd item than have the buyer paying tracking for everything.  Postage is expensive enough without that being on.

Yes you can thats true.    I ticked the box saying Royal Mail only BUT Ebay was still giving any buyer the option to also use Evri.

Did you get any that opted for Evri?  If so, what did you do?

I would most likely cancel.

I only have RM ticked for postage.    Again i listed an item today and when i look at my active listing on my home page it appears to also give Evri as an option.    I have no clue IF any winning bidder will have a choice but i have said on my description i will only post by Royal Mail.      This is a one off test for simple delivery .  IF Evri is an option which a buyer chooses then yes i will cancel the sale.

I think the fact that Ebay have now sent emails saying that SD will be mandatory without any exceptions from 6th August  suggests that whatever they have seen they are happy with it and instead of backing off are moving forward, Business section will be next, after all you can't have 2 different main postage....

5.15 is Royal Mail medium parcel 1-2kg tracked 48 

the other price you’re seeing 5.70 I believe is tracked 24, not an evri price 

that listing for the tongs should be small parcel  I would have thought 

?

I have mine set to Royal Mail only and it has worked so far for me. I just did it in seller or postage preferences and I've never been given an Evri label.

376424120434 looks like "RM only chosen" to me - why do you think it might be Evri?

Buyers don't get a choice - other than they can choose standard, express or click and collect.

As stated in the selling preferences ebay can give you an Evri label in some circumstances - if they do for this - you can ask them why.

Musicmagpie and the other sellers that sell 1000's per day will never be using Simple Delivery.

Trying to relist some of my postcards today and they nearly all  default to Simple Delivery.!!!!..so I won't be

rel isting them until eBay resolve this ....I still don't understand what they hope to achieve..

Silver is prohibited from Simple Delivery.

Collectables/transportation / postcards comes up with custom for me

you need to put the price in for it to work and hit the enter/return  button

and if it doesn’t , try toggling between buyer pays and seller pays or postage only collection /postage 

this seems to give the system a kick to update to custom postage

Theoretically surely ,seeing as ebays system have allowed it

and IF they say it’s up to the seller to check 

they don’t give a custom delivery option for these not allowed items

Feel free to list a load and let us know what happens when one gets "lost"!

If there's no custom option - I would either list it and claim the SD label back, as I said in May on the thread about the gold sovereign (which turned out not to be Simple Delivery anyway...) or "put it in a large box" and send it using the oversized custom postage.

I was just saying that eBay are allowing restricted or prohibited from SD items to be listed as such 

Why is that?

and again theoretically ,seeing as they do this, they should cover them under SD up to 750 £ 

of course they won’t but the b a L L s  in their court to be consistent and clear 

Anyway RM are delivering it

they pay out for lost silver items don’t they? So why do eBay think they shouldn’t if it gets lost under SD

maybe im just being argumentative sorry about that
