I still live in hope that they will scrap Simple Delivery or at least let sellers choose the postage service they wish to use which was always Royal Mail for me, I did not mind the trip to my local post office 2 or 3 times a week and never had any issues with items not arriving ,those were the days.

I'm risk-averse.

I read your post about silver being prohibited from sd as something the seller did wrong
imo they didn’t
ebay forced it onto them (in two ways a) defaulting to it and b) not allowing custom) whilst on the other hand saying you’re protected under sd in one place and in another saying you’re not
yes risk averse with eBay is a good strategy if anyone’s in any doubt

Very unlikely to happen. Even the small business I work for has contracted rates, agreed collections etc - how would it work with Simple Delivery? Would they have to go down the local Post Office with 100s of parcel and QR codes?
What is more likely to happen for business sellers is an enforcement of using tracked delivery methods.

IMO, they have, unintentionally, and IMO they should not use a SD label to send it. There is certainly a risk that ebay won't refund if it goes lost. Ebay may do but they may not. The prohibited items are clearly listed on one of what I see as the two main ebay pages describing Simple Delivery.
I've given 2 ways to send it otherwise. I ended my comment in May with "It would be nice if ebay had a page with their version of the above or their alternative recommendation.". Ebay are aware of my comment/method - indeed I bumped it recently on a thread 2 reps had been looking at.
