Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Re: Simple Delivery

After 18 years with ebay I have just deleted all my listings as I have had enough now.

Re: Simple Delivery

Looks like it's still working for me anyway. Firstly in my account postage preferences I've only selected Royal Mail. Then in my listings I select Advanced Options under the Simple Delivery section, ignore the 'warning' splash screen and select Custom Options, and then I can select the postage service and price I want (and my old rate tables still work).  Also the buy bulk labels option still works, which is a godsend in both time and paper saving. Fingers crossed this doesn't change anytime soon.

Sooner than you think I'm afraid, looks like it's to be the 28th April.

Re: Simple Delivery

Surely you just click on 'switch to advanced options' for the regular options for postage?

Re: Simple Delivery

Yes,  some members can do this currently,  it's still available for me, but Simple Delivery will be mandatory for all Private Sellers.  The rollout started on the 15th, many believing everyone would be switched over on that date,  I did and removed all my listings,  some were switched, but many still had Custom Postage as an option.

It seems that thee 28th is now D Day for everyone being on SD, but as the 15th proved not to be,  it's just a case of wait and see if the 28th is the day.

Whatever the date maybe, it will be mandatory for one and all......   soon! 😑

Re: Simple Delivery

Mine has already started and won't let me get round it. I tried to list some items that would be 87p postage but with simple delivery ebay are charging me £2.74. So I've deleted all my listings. Sent from Samsung Mobile on O2

Re: Simple Delivery

There is supposed to be a QR code, so I guess you contact eBay... what a pain...

Re: Simple Delivery

Just scheduled two items and I still have the old postage option!   Advanced option is still there for me and it is May.

Re: Simple Delivery

However when just experimenting with the options on custom delivery the "add additional service" is not working. Is it all just slipping away........?

Re: Simple Delivery

Just sold 4 items to the same buyer yesterday. All had "Simple Delivery" as the postage option.

However,

They the buyer had put an "Offer" on each one and I accepted. Now the buyer has had to pay postage 4 times, when I could easily package them up in the same parcel together for just the postage cost of one of them.

Could not find any way to cancel the postage for 3 of those items. And upon reading the "Simple Delivery", combining postage can only be done before payment is made.

Which sucks,  as "Offers" are paid as soon as accepted.

"Simple" meant to make it cheaper for postage.... NOT in this case for the buyer.

As such, have went through all I have for sale and put back on "Advanced Postage" where I was able to.

So now Ebay will loose out on any fee they would have made from selling postage via "Simple".

Re: Simple Delivery

? do anyone remember when ebay or buyers where complaining about sellers over charging on postage ! it seems this does not mater now . also i listed something in gardening and no sigh of SD ? just the normal postage with the option for grams and sizes,, so unsettling, so may get an up date next week ,bets please

I haven't yet had SD forced on my listings, but it's a crying shame, isn't it, that people with years of 100% feedback like you (and me!) — ebay's lifeblood, you'd have thought — should be affected like this by their ham-fisted tinkering.

Re: Simple Delivery

There was a fault with 2nd class letter 87p it’s been fixed now

if you can list with custom that is which for items Postable like that you should be as they’re exempt if under £10
