Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Re: Simple Delivery

but it still goes with one of the two carriers, it's listed as such. And it's sold as being cheaper but it's more expensive, maybe when you get to larger items it is better. And penalised for being too far from an evri dropoff with even more expensive prices.

Re: Simple Delivery

Please don't make simple delivery compulsory. How am I going to combine orders for buyers?

It's more expensive than now and I sell lots of items that are non-standard sizes and weights. DON'T DO THIS TO US EBAY!

Unfortunately , eBay do not come onto this forum to see your plea.

However,  there's no stopping Simple Delivery,  it's coming in mandatory,  for all Private sellers from the 15th April.

You may find your existing listings slowly being changed to Simple Delivery now.

Re: Simple Delivery

Vinteds postage costs for delivery to home are far as I can see (they dont advertise them anywhere) are

up to 500g - Evri £2.99/RM £3.39

501g to 1kg - Evri £4.29/RM £5.09

1kg to 2kg - Evri £6.29/RM £6.59

So yes they do pay silly prices. They may have Inpost but given all the problems they have with couriers muddling up parcels, I wouldnt use them. They also have Yodel and DPD but the charges are the same as Evri.

What they dont have is the buyers penalty for the seller choosing only 1 courier but Vinted dont do RM collection from home.

And I use Vinted but Ive never been called young hip before, so thank you - Im in my 60s!

Re: Simple Delivery

I only use RM collection on Vinted and never had a problem.I am in a very rural area with no Evri or DPD only RM.

Re: Simple Delivery

Due to vinted also trying to fit a square peg in to a round hole (like eBay are but in a different way)

Those prices are not right

its all a bit crazy but once you know what you’re doing it’s fine

I spent 20 minutes trying to explain it but gave myself a headache so deleted it all as didn’t want to pass it on to you

Vinted sellers list items as small medium or large

then vinted detail what they regard as small medium and large by size and weight for Royal Mail and by courier but they have got it wrong

I will just say that up to 2kg you only pay 3.39 or 3.45 now from April with RM if you pick small or medium

If you pick large ie vinteds large it means it’s a RM medium size parcel and will be the next price band up

I don’t recognise those later two prices you put but will read around in case it’s changed v recently

mix ups with inpost happen sometimes because using a qr code instead of a printed label you put unmarked package in locker and person who collects sometimes mixes it all up when producing the labels

But with inpost they’re so flexible ….on which locker size you use what weight it is (you’re allowed anything up to 15kg) you can pretty much send anything if it fits in the locker and pay the minimum price

home deliveries tend to cost a bit more but not much more

ps you’re welcome

60s is the new 40s “still got it “ ☺️🤣

Re: Simple Delivery

That's expensive.
I've looked at vinted for buying but it's so hard to search for things 9same age group as you!). I know sellers moan about all the details ebay ask on a clothing listing but if they are filled out properly it really does help the buyer to find them

Re: Simple Delivery

If what you are saying is correct, does this not mean that you could take the matter to the Ombudsman Postal Redress Service (POSTRS)?

Re: Simple Delivery

Great idea but have you seen the system-set out below? Do they expect the average seller to jump through all these hoops because private sellers have had all their rights removed by Feebay?
Who has the time to do this and actually get a sensible result? EBay is the postal operator as they have taken charge of all delivery methods, but there is no way they will accept any complaint about this, do anything, give a response (required for the next stage) and this is on the back of there are ONLY ROBOTS at Feebay now, whom it’s impossible to contact.
A great idea but just too hard to achieve for the average seller. Things like this have to be done en masse with a standardised form so everyone is saying exactly the same thing. Random letters will get us nowhere. Anybody computer savvy and coherent offering to put something together for us all to complete?🙏🙏🙏

How to use POSTRS:
1. Complain to the postal operator first:
You need to first contact Royal Mail or another postal operator and allow them to attempt to resolve your complaint.
2. If unresolved, go to the Postal Review Panel (PRP):
After contacting the operator, you should go to the Postal Review Panel (PRP) and receive a final response.
3. If still unhappy, apply to POSTRS:
If you are not happy with the PRP's response, you can then apply to POSTRS.
4. Submit your complaint:
You can submit your complaint by downloading an application form from the CEDR's website or calling them.
5. CEDR will assess your case:
CEDR will make an initial assessment within 15 working days to see if your application meets the requirements of the service.
6. POSTRS will notify the postal operator:
If your application is accepted, POSTRS will notify the postal operator about your complaint.
7. Investigation and resolution:
POSTRS will investigate your case and attempt to find a resolution.
