I don't sell a lot, just a few things that I don't want if I buy a set of things from QVC. What is bothering me is this simple delivery. I have always just taken my parcels downtown to the Post Office, which is a 10 minute walk away.
We have no Evri or Yodel or any carrier drop off points in our town or anywhere near, nearest thing would be the Leeds Depot (don't know if you can drop things off there, mute point anyway as I don't drive) which is 9 miles away. What would happen when it becomes compulsory to use simple delivery, if ebay decides I should sent something by Evri? Thanks for anyone's help.

as per above
they have put about 30% of the required thought into this change...

looking at all the posts . 75% of people have not bothered to comprehend the changes. Apart from some "technicalities" it's clear what they are doing.

At the moment you dont get the full choices for parcelforce 48hr delivery , doesnt provide all the size and weight options or collection or extra cover so I have to order direct from the parcelforce site , so useless to me and probably going to make things even more frustrating once they force you to order delivery via this new system,

This is bad news for me as I always use parcelforce 48hr collect and full value insurance , those options arn't available on ebay unless they intend to add them when they fully implement the changes .

You will get Royal Mail Tracked 48 if the buyer selects express. The fulll value will be covered by the new Buyer Protection Fee.
What you wont have as far as everyone can make out is collection.

I am 99% sure the other day i saw that a lot of postcodes in rural Scotland are excluded from simple delivery.

Unless I'm mis reading it, or probably missed some update, it's clothing categories which have a long list of excluded zones, all other categories are ' eligible'

Delivery from the following out-of-areas postcodes will be between 5-7 business days following dispatch: AB35-AB38, AB53-AB56, FK17-FK22, IM1-IM9, IV10-IV19, IV2, IV20-IV29, IV3, IV30-IV39, IV4, IV40-IV49, IV5, IV50-IV56, IV6-IV9, KA27, KA28, KW1, KW10-KW17, KW2-KW9, PA17, PA18, PA20-PA38, PA41-PA80, PH10, PH11, PH13-PH49, PH3, PH5, PH50, PH6, PH7, PO30-PO41, TR21-TR25. If you read the "Simple Delivery" guide. Ebay will offer services they deam to be in reach of the seller, so if you haev no evri dropoff with in a certain un defined distance or no RM in the same undefined distance they will be excluded from the offers to buyers.
Except they're currently not excluding services that aren't available.
At the moment, on the Isle of Wight where there is no Evri collection service, eBay are offering this as an option to buyers.
There's a couple of threads from sellers based on the Isle of Wight who ticked the Simple Delivery box and have had this happen.

We do not have anywhere to print in store that I could get to. I don’t drive and would have great difficulty traveling on public transport carrying parcels. Plus it would take half a day as the buses are only every 90 minutes.
My postie collects and brings the parcels for second class standard.

I see this as restricting sellers to use ebay 'approved' delivery services. And considering Evri has one of the worst reputations that isn't great option to choose from.
Sometimes i might want to use Yodel, or Fedex as the local drop of point for both of those is closest to my house and often if you book via Parcel2go Yodel are the cheapest option for <1KG parcel with full tracking compared to all the other couriers.
If you need an example of how terrible Evri can be, last week Evri left a parcel behind by garden wall and didn't even post a card through the letter box to let me know it was there so it was in the rain for hours and water was literally pouring out of it when i picked it up. Thankfully on that occasion is wasn't something that was damaged by the water. But the Evri driver had no idea what was in the box when they just left it there.
