Problems with buyer

I have been an Ebay user for many year both buying and selling, recently a buyer purchased one of my items, I posted it out the next day as usual. It was not delivered for some time, must have been a problem with Royal Mail or something. The buyer then asked for a refund, I waited a couple more days to see if the parcel would arrive, it did not, so I sent apologies and a full refund. The parcel was then delivered the next day, this means I have lost my item and actually paid the postage for someone else to have it so I am well out of pocket. The buyer also gave me a negative feedback, I asked Ebay to remove it but this request was denied, even though the parcel is marked as delivered and the gps coordinated provided by Royal Mail match the buyer's address. As a seller I feel let down as Ebay are not forthcoming with any help even to a loyal user of nearly 20 years with (until now) 100% positive feedback.

did you refund through a case?

While eBay did not remove the neg, if the buyer complain eBay will remove the false positive you left them and that will damage your account.

Re: Problems with buyer

Have you asked the buyer to re-pay you?

More often than not, buyers in such circumstances will happily pay, although you may have spoiled your chance of that with your hasty, ill-thought-out feedback.

Depending on the sequence of events, neither the buyer nor eBay have done anything wrong here, although morally, most would agree that the buyer should offer to pay, or return the item. Your beef is with Royal Mail.

You can only try.
