Problem with track48 serial YA Royal Mail

I bought a track48 label through eBay and this morning a nice lady at the Post Office said that track48 with the YA number is not accepted and that I should contact the seller. does anyone have a similar problem? did ebay uk sell me a fake label?

I haven’t seen if anyone else has posted this but it’s not an eBay issue. It’s happening on my Etsy labels too, it’s a Royal Mail/post office issue.

I tried sending 2 parcels Royal Mail 48hr tracking and was told my qr codes invalid 

would like to know when eBay/Royal Mail will get this problem resolved!

I just dropped off 4 'YA' parcels at my local Post Office and received a printed proof of postage. It seems like they have to use a workaround but otherwise it was like normal.

Try googling collect+ stores and put in your postcode to find the nearest one

they will take your package and give a receipt 

latest noise is it’s Wednesday at earliest to be fixed for the post office 

some post offices are taking them and issuing barcode receipts others are refusing them 

if you have a sorting office near you they too  take them 

ebay seriously needs to have a section up there where latest updates on issues show to its users  instead of sitting there seeing 50 million threads about it and doing not much at all

Yes - the issue is with Royal Mail software NOT eBay. Don't listen to those
that work in Customer Service on eBay. They seem to be giving a quick
answer that it is a problem at their end and it will be fixed (to get you
off the phone).
If it's an eBay issue how come it is happening on Etsy, Vinted and on the
label that I purchased via Royal Mail online today (nothing to do with
eBay).

Thanks for the info I tried this morning with two YA Royal Mail qr codes for my parcels 

so annoying and so much for eBay Simple Delivery !

Yes - don't listen to eBay customer service - it's on all platforms using
Tracked 48 and is certainly a Royal Mail / Post Office issue.
If you purchase a Tracked 48 label online with Royal Mail on an order that
has nothing to do with eBay you will have the same issue.

I've just printed a T24 label for an extra 80p instead a T48. I'll stand that. It's worth 80 pence to avoid all the hassle. But not for much longer, let's hope it soon gets sorted out.

Monday, same here, 5 packages didn't scan. They offered to take them but with no receipt. Problem is that if they haven't entered the system there is no record of delivery, no apparent delivery, no release of funds.

The woman behind the counter knows me so took the parcels in the hope the system comes back to normal tomorrow.

If you do as some have recommended and purchase a RM label yourself the buyer gets refunded for the simple delivery label and you the seller are out of pocket for its replacement.

The perfect storm and Ebay are doing naff all about keeping their sellers informed.

I dropped 3 parcels just after lunch , got receipt including tracking details . My sold page showed i had dropped them off at the parcelshop as normal.  The young lady at the post office me they had been given a work round until the post office solved the problem.

It's a lot more than 80p though. If the buyer paid for the unused/useless T48 label then the buyer will be getting the refund. And if you paid for it then Ebay will be and you still have the hassle of having to beg them to refund that to you.

the only label that worked for me is the next day by 1pm,  so rather than the buyer paying £4 for postage i'm going to have to pay £10 for it the longer this goes on....

My local post office were aware of this problem and told me that they had been advised to accept YA parcels despite the problem, they could not offer proof of postage. I took photos of each parcel label been handed over...fingers crossed...Just annoyed that Royal mail & Ebay can mess things up so much.

The PO gave me a note as attached and I took a photo of the parcel with the T48 postage label 

However I dropped the parcel at 9.35 am this morning.  The parcel was picked up by  royal mail before midday when I went back to check at the post office. 

However royal mail tracking still hasn't been updated at 9 pm tonight and still states the following :

We're expecting it

The sender has advised they have despatched your item to Royal Mail.

More information will be available once we have received your item and scanned it into our network.

Simple delivery? It was simple before when we had a choice of what delivery company and delivery method to use. I purchased 3 simple delivery labels over the weekend and had no idea until I posted, they were accepted but tracking is showing I have not posted. I spoke with eBay this evening and the agent had no idea about this problem, they had to go and ask someone. I am told the tracking will update when they have sorted the issue, however they had no idea when this would happen, but I don't understand how they can do this? They have asked me to ask the buyer to tell me when the item is delivered! Are they going to be honest? Looks like another eBay issue that is going to take sometime to resolve? eBay should refund all these labels as they are not providing the tracked service they have changed sellers for!

The Post office only use Horizon no other system available.  Its only an issue with eBay "simple delivery labels"
