Posted with special delivery instead of Simple Delivery - tracking was not amendable

Hello

i am a small private seller who posted an item with special delivery as it was fragile and I did not use the Simple Delivery and its tracking. I wanted to change the tracking number to the new tracking number that I got with the special delivery method. I could not change it. The buyer received the item the next day. I have proof of it as I tracked it myself as well. Asked for feedback so the system can recognise the item was delivered already which it still shows as dispatched due to the wrong Simple Delivey  tracking set in there. How can I get my earned money??? If the buyer does not give feedback or respond to my messages??? Where is the Seller Protection now??? I can’t do anything to make the item marked delivered. HELP

When you buy your own label you still need to generate the original prepaid label to change the tracking number and mark as dispatched.   

After you do that go to View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow and change the tracking.   That has to be done on a desktop browser.

If you paid for the original label you can cancel it here:

Or if the buyer paid for it it will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.

Even if you don't manage to do the above the payment will be released anyway in 14 days.

If the item qualified for Simple Delivery there was no point sending it by Special Delivery as it would have been covered up to £750 against loss or damage anyway.  Special Delivery is for valuables — there's no reason to suppose that parcels sent by it will be handled any more gently than those sent via Tracked 24 or 48, which are the Royal Mail services that Simple Delivery uses.

Hi just wondering has this policy changed? I have managed to follow your instructions for a simple delivery parcel that i have decided to use UPS instead, however there seems to be no more availability to add your own tracking, i had a call with ebay and they informed me that the only option now is to private message the buyer the alternative tracking

Ebay like to control everything and so now control postage as well.

It just complicates things as they worked fine before.

I think you can change the postage options in the listing if you want.

But you do it before you list it not after its sold.
