Postage

I hadn't used ebay for many years, so when I came back I found the system confusing. I sold three items but ignored ebay's postage system as I didn't have a printer and was unfamiliar with QR codes. So I just took the items to the post office and sent them, as I used to many years ago. Now I don't know how to reclaim my monies for the sales as the system doesn't seem to recognize my approach. I do see the sense of the new system now, but at the time it was just an honest mistake. Any help with this is appreciated.

When you sent them, did you get proof of postage receipt(s)?

Depending on which service you used you may have tracking codes.

If you didn't use a tracked service then you may have to wait upto 14 days for your money. Depends on how much the items were.

Re: Postage

Have you actually signed up for eBay's Managed Payments System?

I don't know when you last sold on here but there have been a number of changes in the last few years.

Re: Postage

Yes, I did keep all the receipts, and no, I didn't use tracking services. I'm just worried that I don't have proof of delivery as it's not showing up on the site. These items were all sent during February and I got feedback on one of them at least.

Re: Postage

I'm not sure. I was requested by ebay to update my bank details after the sales, and they did the one penny in, one penny out check. Does that count?

Re: Postage

I just reread your first post again. You actually "may" (it's eBay's choice) have a longer wait than 14 days.

I forget the exact timeframe, but think it may be around 30 days holding for an account with new activity.

One of the others here can probably give you more accuracy.

Re: Postage

I noticed that ebay seems to hold onto monies before releasing it, but will it automatically go to my bank after that period, or do I have to request it?

You have to request it. Find the "payments" section.
