FOR GOODNESS SAKE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH eBAY ???
Visited my local Post Office outlet this pm. The customer in front of me had 4 of her items sold on eBay refused due to incorrect printed labels supplied by fleece-bay. The member of staff confirmed this customer was not the first to be turned away today.
I am sure that I read, eBay stated Post Offices will accept all items for dispatch.
Thats another incorrect bit of information from eBay.
The question I have, is what does that poor seller now do with those 4 items ??
OKAY, eBAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH … GET IT SORTED.

The problem is the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing ,ebay should have waited until every PO and Evri drop off shops were fully prepared for all this ,and now my neighbour has just been into our Evri drop of shop in tesco express and they can't scan the labels on the parcels because they haven't got the paper to print out receipts and my son in coventry has had the same problem for 3 days now no paper to print out parcel labels or receipts .Buyers are being pushed in the direction of Evri because the cost is cheaper ,but no good if sellers can't post the parcel . And even more appalling sellers are having to wait for their money and yet it isn't their fault that they can't send the parcel ,and as I said before several times before on here the PO wouldn't run out of paper .

Yes, this thread is about post offices refusing parcel, not about combined postage - well I take it that is what is meant by multi items.
There a number of complaints I have about Simple Delivery including combined postage but I have expressed those in threads that were either general about simple delivery or specifically about parts of simple delivery...
As it is, most of my items fit into small parcel, and I can't do Evri because too far away, so I suspect my items will look like overpays & therefore should be acceptable. I will make sure I select 1 or 2kg as is appropriate from the Simple delivery menu. And I'll leave larger items until it seems ok to take them to the PO or arrange collection.

My main concern over everything is losing my pop up post office which to most city/town dwellers is not an issue…
It is a 16 mile round trip to my main post office which I certainly am not doing for 1 parcel.
We do not have an evri or parcel lockers.
So at the moment I don’t think EBay’s/Rm monopoly get richer quicker SD scheme is the best thing that has come out of eBay for a long time regardless of how many people think it is…

Would you as Post Office franchiser be willing to take on extra work - more than likely unpaid, to address the problems created with erroneous labels, dut to price and weight categories? ebay simply assumes Sellers take on extra tasks at ebays will with any process they design (off the top of my head, i don't recall any step being simplified - most certainly not Simple Postage for sure).
One aspect you havent mentioned is the Multi items to an order - that has had a lot of millage in it, and so many directions."
Sorry I have no idea what this, if I could understand it, has to do with this thread.
Have you missed the massive furore regarding Combined Items in the new postage system, where by ebay , have disabled combined invoices, making each item sold having its own full price as each one is in a separate package, i believe the excuse being inability to track each item, even if say 25 vintage postage stamps were sold one at a time, that would require 25 packages.
Great system aint it just?

I'm assuming that you don't have a printer at home for the labels.
EBay have said somewhere that they are hoping that they can make it possible to have the postie bringing the label service available - but no time scale.
Hoping you don't lose your popup post office. We are very rural but lucky that our nearest village has a huge comprehensive school, has some shops and is a centre for a large rural area, so we have a post office in one of the shops. The Post Office refused to allow the "proper" post office to continue when the owner wanted to retire and have his son take over. But no Evri drop off anywhere close. There is a post office van once a week in the village 2 miles the other way.

Our little local independant post office that is privately owned ,gets between 9 and 12 pence comission on everything they sell for Royal Mail but now that ebay are handling the Labels the post office isn't selling the labels for RM so there is no commission to be had ,so they aren't going to work for nothing handling Ebays ready printed labelled parcels for RM and why should they .

Once it became cheaper to buy postage online, than over the counter, I started arranging collection by postie as I didn't want to be handing over parcels ready labelled, just for posting & receipt of posting, seemed a lot of work (and space used) for no real income - and long queues. But I went and told them at the post office that is was now so much cheaper online...

PARCEL giant Evri admits it will lose track of eight million packages this year — 22,000 a day.
The delivery company, which estimates it will handle 800million parcels in 2025, predicts it will lose track of one per cent of them.
That equates to 153,846 parcels every week. Some will eventually reach their destination after a delay.
But others will not arrive at all thanks to being damaged or stolen.
Evri counts late or lost parcels under the same category — making up the one per cent.
The firm insists that most issues with packages stem from poor quality of packaging or labels becoming separated from the parcel. And more than 7.3million parcels a year did not reach their destination on time or at all in 2024 — 20,000 a day.

They used to be My Hermes, then Hermes now EVRI.
I wonder why they keep rebranding?!!

They will still get a commission (per item and per sack) just not as much as they would do if they were selling the postage themselves.

If you have ever used the Post Office in the last decade or so, you have been relying on Horizon.

"The article has been amended since publication following a legal complaint to clarify that the figure of 22,000 represents parcels which Evri predicts will fail to be delivered on time, as opposed to parcels which will never be delivered, and the majority of delayed parcels reach their intended recipients."
This is why people should be wary of anything reported as fact in a tabloid.

NO …. relying on the professionally trained staff who have always delivered counter and delivery service.

Fact, fiction or spin, Evri are still *bleep*.

My response was to a poster who commented (possibly not being serious?):
'Dropped off a Tracked 48 package at Post Office this morning and was given a
“Horizon Certificate of Posting”
Am I now relying on the same Horizon computer system that resulted in so many postmasters going to prison!'
Horizon has been used in all Post Office branches since 1999 and still is.

Up to you but it works with me when I have around 200 listings on pause.
