FOR GOODNESS SAKE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH eBAY ???
Visited my local Post Office outlet this pm. The customer in front of me had 4 of her items sold on eBay refused due to incorrect printed labels supplied by fleece-bay. The member of staff confirmed this customer was not the first to be turned away today.
I am sure that I read, eBay stated Post Offices will accept all items for dispatch.
Thats another incorrect bit of information from eBay.
The question I have, is what does that poor seller now do with those 4 items ??
OKAY, eBAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH … GET IT SORTED.

I haven’t looked into it fully but I got the impression they were cute with the way they categorised these 1-2kg parcels. By considering them to be medium sized they can say it is cheaper than the usual price. It was always going to be difficult to combine RM and Evri within the same parcel bands as their parcel size limits are so different.

It was the same for us, the tailor’s tape measure!
But I used to dread anything large tubular or cylinder shaped.
Think my worst was unboxed canoe paddles.

Dropped off a Tracked 48 package at Post Office this morning and was given a
“Horizon Certificate of Posting”
Am I now relying on the same Horizon computer system that resulted in so many postmasters going to prison!

“But I used to dread anything large tubular or cylinder shaped.

My minds eye is boggling.
I keep thinking Ronnie Barker could have come up with a great “Fork Handles” style sketch

At the moment I am not selling, but when I am I can have over 100 listings. Any suggestion that I should have them all boxed up is just ridiculous.

Just had 3 refused this morning

If you haven’t already I’d see what else is around in your area until the PO start accepting them:

This is NOT a problem caused by eBay, although they are obviously affected.
It is clearly a Post Office problem. All post office managers have been instructed through the Horizon system to accept anything with an eBay Simple Delivery label on it - labels are clearly marked.
The only items which the Post Office should be rejecting are those which are physically too large or too heavy for the Royal Mail network.
If your post office refuses them, do as Marco@eBay suggests. Contact eBay, and, if you feel like it, contact the post office organisation about it. Your packages should NOT be refused, and it is only branches with incompetent management, who have not been keeping up with Horizon notices, which are doing so.
It will blow over in time.

'I keep thinking Ronnie Barker could have come up with a great “Fork Handles” style sketch'
😄
I remember being in a long post office queue behind a guy carrying what looked like bicycle handlebars wrapped up in black cling film. Unfortunately I didn't hear what was said to him when he reached the counter, but it must've been along the lines of 'on yer bike', because he left still clutching the handlebars.
Meanwhile, at another counter, a lady was disappointed that the individual porridge sachets she wanted to post would not fit through the large letter slot.
Comedy gold.

I did a chat this morning with Ebay. They told me it was my fault and nothing to do with them or the PO.
10-04-2025 11:19 AM
and the big question will be 'does it work efficiently'!!! The more technology they use the more mess ups occur!
10-04-2025 11:20 AM
Thanks, going to a local drop off point to send them today.

Ebay are in denial.
10-04-2025 11:21 AM
so much easier just packing it up and taking it to the post office to get weighed and measured and just pay up!
10-04-2025 11:23 AM
it has always been Horizon! They still are the system the post office use.
10-04-2025 11:24 AM
the incompetent management issue is with E Bay!
10-04-2025 11:25 AM
Just wondered if Marco or one of the chat team could let us know
for how long this was beta tested to make sure POs were aware
of how the system works before it went live for everyone.
10-04-2025 11:25 AM
there will be lots more comments on here saying they have been told the same thing. The system is perfect so it must be the seller at fault!
10-04-2025 11:26 AM
All this is 100% eBay's fault for introducing a system that nobody wanted.
10-04-2025 11:42 AM
I am not affected by this, as 99% of my on-line sales are my own labels
through the website.
But just been to my local PO and asked if they are accepting SD with
incorrect size / weight.
Told me they are turning them all away as they get penalized for sending them.
Not going well is it eBay
