EBAY should look after private sellers more carefully.
How can Ebay decide to charge lowest postage price without considering the packaging materials that I have to purchase to be able to despatch my sold items in a safe and secure way.
Packaging material I purchase to sell items on Ebay;
Brown packing tape
Self seal plastic bags of various sizes
Polystyrene quaver like packaging
Bubble wrap, rolls
Polystyrene wrap, rolls
Hand held shrink wrap
Despatch label holders
Hazard tape; yellow/black to help identify my parcel should carrier mislay/lose
Confirmation of very satisfied customers reflects on the positive feedback regarding packaging
All these items do not come cheap, and that is why I must charge postage to include these packaging materials
I am very close to closing my account after many years of successful trading

They have considered the packaging, to be fair, they said add the cost to the item.... Don't shoot the messenger.
I guess it depends what you sell, but i only use recycled materials. Apart from sellotape and parcel tape, I don't buy anything. I have only had one complaint about using a prescriptions drugs box... I blocked her. I get more exited about bubble wrap on things i've purchased than the actual purchase and junk mail envelopes are all reused with stuck on labels and resealed with tape.

I used to pick up clean bubble wrap from my local supermarket but , as with most things to be more sustainable, you rarely find it in the fruit & veg dept now.

The inner bags from cereal. I clean those and use wrapping paper pattern side in to wrap an item first. Works for clothes and light books.

Cardboard from cornflakes and weatabix boxes is great. And empty loo rolls for dads drills!

'Just not practical for many sellers ...'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of genuine private sellers do not need industrial quantities of packaging when they're selling their own bits and bobs...... storing up domestic packaging is ideal .
