It would appear that eBay 'Simple Delivery' announced with great fanfare by eBay over the preceding weeks, is not actually effective for ALL private seller listings as of 15/4/25.
I just had a chat with eBay Support whom advise new listings will be 'ramped' into simple delivery from 15/4/25 and that existing listings will be phased in from 23/4/25 and fully implemented by 28/4/25!
Why don't you tell us that eBay in your elaborate simple delivery news release?
I think the real truth is that eBay over burdened themselves with the task at hand.

It is a mess.
And it is inconsistent.
I have items I listed last Saturday where I had no choice but to use Simple Delivery, and then I listed 2 or 3 items in the middle of this week and was able to leave my postage options as they were - RM Large Letter or 48 hour tracked.
I plan to carry on selling and have decided to accept (not embrace!) Simple Delivery, but the uncertainty of the past few days has been a bit stressful.
Although, as I do like to say, 'It's only Ebay.' And most of us have more important things to fret and stress about.

Couldn't agree more.....yes the changes are idiotic and senseless (from our point of view of course) but at the end of the day all these sellers that are shouting 'I'M NOT GOING TO SELL ON EBAY ANYMORE' are merely . 'cutting their noses off to spit their faces'
Things change, not always for the better, but those that survive are those that learn to ADAPT...

I hope eBay add Yodel to their simple delivery. I sent an email of complaint about SD and they replied implying other couriers would be added.

I think once you discount the business sellers using private accounts who could easily upgrade and avoid BPF and SD, and all those members who are going to end their listings (at some future, unspecified date ...), it will be a small minority of sellers who actually leave.
I have had a look at other selling sites recently but adapt the policy below:
If the grass looks greener on the other side... Stop staring. Stop comparing. Stop complaining & Start watering the grass you're standing on

They could do with a new advertising campaign:
Ebay 'We over promise and under deliver'.

UPDATE: Had a message from eBay Customer Service saying my above (1st message) comments were correct. Even to this day (3 MAY 25) most of my listings have not shifted to this so called 'Simple Delivery'. eBay admits in their message to me it has a problem but will not advise us, their clients of their ongoing issues and delays to this new delivery process.

Just be relieved you haven't been water-boarded... sorry "on-boarded in waves"🌊 🌊

I had a conversation with an Ebay manager on 1st May. I was complaining that Simple Delivery was a restrictive trade practice. Firstly, private Sellers are being forced to use either the Post Office or Evri. I have always used the Post Office anyway but I am forced to charge the fee set by Ebay instead of being able to set my own postage charges. I always added approximately £2.00 to the actual postage cost to cover packaging (i.e. boxes - tape - taking my item to the local Post Office etc). To compensate for these costs I have had to increase my selling prices. Whereas before any Ebay costs were only charged against the item you were selling and not postage charges, Ebay are now taking a percentage from a higher selling price. With the 4% Buyers Protection Fee not only does it distort selling prices it puts more money into Ebay's coffers. I do not see the need to charge a Buyers Protection Fee anyway as with Post Office 48 Hour Tracked, the customer is automatlcally covered up to the value of £150.00 against loss or damage. Secondly, what happens if you are sending a larger and heavier package? You cannot send ir via the Post Office. It has to go by Parcel Force for which no such option is offered by Ebay. Also, a large heavy package can cost a seller £15.00 to £20.00 + which Ebay do not provide an option for. Basically this Ebay policy option is a complete CON designed to put more money in their coffers. It is of absolutely no benefit to Sellers or Buyers. Ebay have not properly thought this policy through. The quicker they review all of the above issues and return to just charging a simple Sellers fee the better. It is much more transparent than all the nonsence associated with the "SMOKING MIRRORS" Ebay have created. It is all frankly driving me to distraction. Another Ebay Seller I have received a message from has stated that since all of the above issues have been phased in, his sales have dropped by 75%, which I think reflects my own experience. You just need to look at all the messages on the Ebay Community platform and see nobody is happy. We are all literally "BUMPING OUR GUMS". Whether or not Ebay are aware of what feedback there has been and are just ignoring the issues, I don't know. When I spoke to the Ebay manager about all of this, all I got was the "PARTY LINE". So, what is the alternative selling platform to Ebay? Perhaps a mass petition, signed by member Sellers would make an impact, but how to organise one, I don't know.

What was the ebay manager reply?

Still able to list with custom postage and no listings moved over. Away for a week and I’d be surprised if the s##t show is sorted when back.

I ended all my listings on 7th but with all the rubbish happening i decided to experiment and put about 10 back on using custom postage as before. They moved me over to SD when they were relisted after a week, i then ended the listings again. After reading some of the comments i played around and have managed to list them with custom postage again! Different items, different values but all were supposedly SD.... I have also listed a couple with SD with seller pays and if someone does buy will send standard RM through the PO and see what happens from there. May cost me but just for the fun it will be worth it..

There is a petition on this community board, under the heading " A petition", hopefully it's still here somewhere!

Today(09/05/2025)sold an item, received an email with instructions to generate a QR code or print a label. So clicked and got a QR code, took the sale item and code to my local post office who refused it because it was an EVRI QR code.
So I thought just cancel the Evri QR code and purchase the Royal mail code(my choice for the last 21 years)
There is no option to cancel the code,so after a long webchat I get a link for a refund, fine.
I then tried to generate a new code but there is no longer any option to purchase a delivery code on the app.So after another long webchat my case as now been referred to a specialist team who may or may not get back to me in the next 24 hours!
So at this point my buyer is still waiting and I am not very happy.
So have cheared myself up by writing a long email, with transcripts to the ebay CEO,a method which generally gets results.

Also try Eve Williams, UK head of ebay, lots of people have tried, but they are tone deaf!
