Not received claim/return

Hello,

I want to post a strange one, hoping that someone can advise

A buyer has opened an item not received claim on an item that I hadn’t uploaded tracking on, it’s well over the expected delivery by 6-8weeks

i actually do have tracking, I can see the photo of the delivery, I just didn’t upload it

if I upload it he tracking the case, the case will then be settled into my favour I underStand, but I am worried the buyer can then just start a return as this is clearly some sort of scam or money back request

i have also read online that as the expected delivery is over 30days the case will be settled in my favour without tracking

should I upload it or not, is there any way to stop the buyer initiating a return after? I fear I’ve already lost the product so I’m trying to not lose the money also and I fear doing anything on eBay as I know they rarely side with a seller

i have good feedback, the buyer is new and already has negative, this is why I feel this request isn’t genuine also

Re: Not received claim/return

If it were me I would enter the Tracking Number. Then asap answer the eBay Open Case for 'Item not arrived' by sending a scan of the Couriers Delivery Records (eBay's CS seem to like all the details infront of them when reviewing a case).

Re: Not received claim/return

But if I do all that and win the case, can the seller open a return? I’m just trying to work out if I have any protection from this person

Re: Not received claim/return

One can open a case after the 30 day timeframe,  but a buyer cannot then escalate the case,  and with no action it would just time out and close.

Re: Not received claim/return

If they are a scammer they are going a funny way about it or are in scam school training division. It's too late for them to start anything backed by the Money Back Guarantee and they are cruising close to the deadline even for a chargeback I imagine - given the timeline you've suggested.

Re: Not received claim/return

why not just upload the tracking, it will only assist your case.  I put the tracking in as soon as i can just so that it is on there and i do not forget or lose the slip.

You are Registered as a Private Seller with your Adverts stating 'No Returns'.

Upload your tracking number to the INR case straight away.

If you ignore the case there is the risk that eBay will decide to intervene, and as you haven't responded they may decide to refund buyer. You don't want that risk.

The buyer can still later open a return, but as it's outside of 30 days you can decline it.

The buyer can still later open a chargeback, you can post back here for help if that happens.
