AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

That's just a crazy thing to happen. I'm sure they're all doing this because post offices are in control of what they take or don't take. I'm so glad I don't use Sainsbury's.

Also whilst backs turned BINs are now live until May.

You've lost me on that one. It's been to long a day for me lol.

I think that RM are doing this on the presumption that SD is going to be a success with eBay.

There's no other logical reason why. So now these can say even more drop off points available.

If RM can establish their own network of drop-off points then it gives them more leverage to squeeze Post Office in their next negotiations on how much they pay between themselves.
Everything's so dog-eat-dog right now and unfortunately society ends up poorer.

Sainsburys and RM could eventually cause my PO to close which would be inconvenient as my PO is a 7 minute leisurely walk but Sainsburys is a 2 mile round trip and I can't drive.

I guess Sainsbury's would have jumped at that chance. They aren't a lot of people's first choice store so anything to try and gain on their rivals would be jumped on. I'm sure they'll be more things happening in the near future.

Very true. It is very dog eat dog because of so much uncertainty. Anything to try gaining the upper hand to be in a strong negotiation position. I wouldn't surprise me if somewhere down the line the monopolies commission gets called into play regarding something in the future.

Same here. I don't drive either and that's why RM collecting from my home was useful. But it would be weird if my postie collected and yet I wouldn't be dealing with RM directly anymore.

oh joy dabbling has started...on an active listings ano account Postage is shown as £2.50 when go into listing postage is being charged at £2.94. Another in listings is £3.99 (allowing for packaging etc) but charged as £2.94. You therefore cant rely on your active listing list for postage you have to check actual listing. One bonus a jug previously medium parcel charged at £6 is now £3.71.🤣

oh also when I click to view postage details the amounts are for delivery to..myself...but guess no buyer as yet.😂 Re jug it is medium parcel and £6.15 if i took to PO but SD has parcel sizes same for both weights so has 2kg price £3.71 ....interesting times.

£70 Antique changed from 2nd Class signed for £5.00 to £2.71 standard BUT could still opt out of SD and change back. This is what ebay dont seem to get that with both Royal Mail and Evri there is a signed for option but both cost more. Will it get changed again? After 15th will changing these more complex dispatches even be possible? Popcorn time....

I don't have much to sell on this site but my partner has many on his. I have removed books, DVDs, CDs etc as there has been no interest what so ever. This new Simple Delivery, we have started altering the postage before eBay do ... and, we seem to have some sales as the buyers chose EVRI instead of Royal Mail, two items of clothing in two days with nothing all year before offering just Royal Mail. We hate going to TESCO or the Service Station to hand in our EVRI parcel, and the nearest locker is 2 miles away shared with Royal Mail and DPD. We could not understand why there are hundreds of InPost lockers in our area but just found out that they shared their lockers with EVRI. NOT any more as eBay told us when we printed the labels that we can not put an EVRI parcel in an InPost locker. InPost must be livid. So, we hope buyers choose Royal Mail for large letters and "fragile" items and not EVRI. It will be inconvenient as well as expensive in electric (EV) but we will not give up as a private seller. Let eBay do what they wish and we will just carry on regardless. eBay sales pays for the new 25 plate EV car and we are happy with this little hobby.

noooo🤣🤣..... changed a non SD item to SD as cheaper for buyer it now appears on my active list under postage as 'collection in person only'................. where is the £3.71 ????? The listing thankfully shows postage not collection. Maybe ebay servers are in meltdown.
