NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Oh they hear alright, they just refuse to listen, thinking it will all be brushed under the carpet, well if you continue brushing under carpets you won’t be able to open your doors!

They've most probably barricaded their doors already.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

We are making a change to the way Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class Letter/Large Letter services are being shown on eBay. From Monday 21st April 2025, the following changes will take place when choosing a service in the delivery details of your listings:

  • The service Royal Mail 1st Class Letter/Large Letter is being changed from a combined service to 2 services: Royal Mail 1st Class Letter and Royal Mail 1st Class Large Letter
  • The service Royal Mail 2nd Class Letter/Large Letter is being changed from a combined service to 2 services: Royal Mail 2nd Class Letter and Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter.

There are no changes to the maximum weight, dimensions and delivery times outlined by Royal Mail for 1st Class Letter, 1st Class Large Letter, 2nd Class Letter and 2nd Class Large Letter. Please refer to Royal Mail’s website for more details on 1st Class and 2nd Class services.

======

I’m totally confused.  I thought with Simple Delivery, everything went 48 hours tracked, unless it was exempt, and the minimum service was Large Letter.  So what does the 1st/2nd class and Letter mean?

Their minds would melt if they were asked what came first, the chicken or the egg lol.

Instead of copying Vinted model they would have been better off copying YouTube and everyone gets  an advert every time you click on a listing , free to buy free to sell, happy days lol.

I think they are going round in circles. Maybe pressure is getting to them. So now they are confusing users even more who are already confused.

You missed out this "so please ensure you have the correct service selected on your listings to ensure the delivery estimates are accurate for your buyers. "

Accurate delivery dates!? When Ebay ignores sellers' chosen dispatch times....

This is an utter shambles. The best slant to put on it, and it's an unacceptable one, is UK sellers are being used to debug the SD system, and to train the AI in guessing package sizes, risking their feedback records to do so.

I registered with another site this morning, made a first ever purchase & listed an item for sale. All current listing are here are removed other than one last auction with a bid on it.

I don't think they are sports fans because every time they heard the chant "you don't know what your doing"  for a bad decision they'd think it was aimed at them 😂.

I was told by someone I can't mention otherwise it will removed, that letter/large letter under 100g and under £10 will be able to carry on with custom delivery, whether they are going back on that?? And it will be just letter??

They really don't have a clue at the moment. Such a mess for such a big platform.

They really needed to be ahead of the game.

If across the board they offered free listings and 8% final value fee capped, people would come back to eBay and they would make a lot more money then they are now , a real simple solution and they would have saved millions implementing these stupid ideas. They just cant  see the wood from the trees.

For anyone to say they don't want to make money from their stuff is not really true but many of us don't want to make loads of money, I just wanted to be able to sell mine and other people's bits for them at a reasonable cost, well my charity shop will benefit a bit more now  for a time. I won't be buying on eBay either

I'd rather help charity shops rather than contribute more to this place.

Although there's no way I would want them to copy YouTube with ads seemingly every few seconds (makes YouTube unbearable a lot of the time), but I'd actually be happy with ads down the side  or across the top/bottom for instance, provided it meant that they stopped trying to fleece us for every penny and used the ads to pay for the services.  Something tells me that they'd be more likely to see it as an additional income stream though.
