AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I'd put money on that loophole getting closed in fairly short order once someone at Evri cottons on to the fact that they've left out that geographical caveat...

I complained to Evri because our local drop off shop didn't have any paper for people to post parcels or get a receipt it was like it for 4 days and my son in coventry had the same problem and this is Evri's reply ..................

Response By E-mail (Taryn-Lee) (15/04/2025 09.41 AM) Greetings Mrs Jane, Thank you for getting in touch with your enquiry regarding parcel, and advising us about your response sent on the complaint. My name is Taryn and I’m part of the Evri Customer Service Team. I will be looking into your enquiry. I want to sincerely apologize for the confusion in my previous response. I completely understand your frustration, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It seems my response missed the mark entirely, and I’m genuinely sorry for the misunderstanding. You’ve raised some very valid concerns regarding the service you’ve received, particularly the ongoing issue with your local Tesco Express parcel drop-off shop not having the necessary paper for labels and receipts. I fully appreciate how this is impacting your ability to run your eBay business and send parcels to your customers, especially with eBay now pushing sellers to use Evri for deliveries. I understand how stressful and frustrating this is, and I want to assure you that I will pass this feedback directly to the relevant team for investigation. It’s absolutely unacceptable that the shop hasn’t been able to provide the necessary materials for several days, and I completely agree with your point that when a company is pushing its services through partnerships, such as with eBay, it’s their responsibility to ensure these facilities are properly stocked and functioning smoothly. I also understand the impact this has on your business, especially with eBay’s new delivery system going into effect soon, and I can only imagine how this lack of reliability is putting you in a difficult position. If it is more convenient, they are also able to drop their parcel off at one of our many ParcelShops - they can find their nearest ParcelShop here . They do not require a new label to do this, simply hand the parcel over to the shop attendant, they will provide them with a collection receipt and we will collect it the same day if it is dropped off before 12pm. If you need anything in the future, please contact your Evri customer service team and we’ll be happy to help. Kind Regards, Taryn Evri Customer Services |

Just got a message saying buyers can add photos to feedback now! not sure if that's good or bad
Is that a new thing?
17-04-2025 8:03 PM
No, I've had at least 1 feedback that included photos. It used to be in the first set eBay show to everyone.
I'd guess that was at least 6 months old.

It's been around for a while - not sure how long, but I've recently been seeing a 'pop-up' when I've gone to view mine on receipt of new comments...
17-04-2025 8:05 PM
Ah ok, thanks. Hadn't come across it before.

On the off chance any of you saw it and remember where it is posted, did any of you see a set of posts recently from a seller that organised collection for some lawn furniture?
They ended up losing everything to the buyer as the buyer did an IND after taking it.
I've been trying to find it, as it looks like another seller may have a similar problem. Just wanted to link them to it.

It has been available a few months now ,I had a buyer who was happy with her item and put a picture up to show the item ,so I suppose it can be positive as it gives other buyers the confidence to buy from you .

They have been able to for ages. I got a lovely photo from a buyer who had bought a dog soft toy from me for his dog

I sometimes see acronyms I don't know, but Google usually does. If I put "acronym IND ebay" into Google, it will bring up "Item Not as Described". Google usually needs some context, eg "ebay", otherwise you get told that it stands for "Improvised Nuclear Device" or something equally fascinating. Mind you, an Improvised Nuclear Device might be the very next thing that ebay launches, who knows! 😁

Started using SD, item sold on Monday, despatched Tuesday and delivered damaged on Thursday. My items are never normally damaged as I pack them really well - maybe RM saw the ebay marketplace writing on the label and decided they hate all this SD as well.
Buyer raised a case and ebay dealt with it - see picture above. I am a little worried though as ebay only refunded the buyer 50% of the item cost as the item was still usable but well damaged (the pictures he sent looked like a car had driven over it - and i checked the RM delivery pic of it and it was squashed even though I packaged it brilliantly).
If the buyer gets to keep the item and its cost them 50% then surely he can just make a chargeback and get it all back if they are not happy?
I am happy I didnt have to deal with it though - definitely less stress
With damaged items, does RM normally pay out a percentage of the value/sale? Ive never had a damaged item before where I know the outcome of a RM claim - was just wondering as ebay only gave the buyer 50% back, so does ebay claim 100% off of RM?

Whoever you spoke to at Evri obviously doesn't have a clue about shipping to NI. I have received several (both eBay and non eBay) parcels sent to me from GB to NI via Evri.

From my experience with Royal Mail they only pay the sender what they paid for it, regardless to whether it sold for more.
But I only ever used their umbrella services, never Special Delivery so am unaware if that is different.
& if I was that buyer, I would be seething right now.
Not sure which set that is, but it's definitely a Lord of the Rings Steelbook set so they bought it because they wanted the bling.
If I was them I'd definitely be issuing a chargeback against eBay. Not sure how or if that will get through to you though. Yours is the first example I've seen of an SD claim in this detail.

What was the item ?
All this is highlighting is you are no longer RM customer and if it is damaged Ebay sort out the compensation . You have effectively sold the item to Ebay and they have resold it to the buyer .
As long as you receive 100% of your payment then your fine , but then once RM receive it your bit is done . Again the problem is what when the courier says it wasn't their fault and how its resolved .
My view is unless the courier says there was an issue when they received it , it should not ever be the sellers problem .

In my experience, on those rare occasions that something has gone missing while being carried by Royal Mail, once I have supplied the eBay listing details and invoice showing what the buyer paid, Royal Mail have paid in full including the postage paid. This makes sense because it is that amount that I need to refund the buyer.
17-04-2025 10:21 PM
I don't deny your logic there. I was only saying what I'd been told on the 2 occasions I had to request information.
Both times they said what I paid.

I didn't see the last photo , but I can see why a partial refund is applicable .
But the fact Ebay settled a partial refund is an admission they are technically the seller .
So from a seller perspective the only scenario to be concerned about is if the item is not as described but that is surely Ebay's lookout if they are in fact reselling the item .
