NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Done, just a simple message, and with a very legitimate concern.

I suggest we all contact them, it's very simple and straightforward to do.

They are there to help!

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I wonder why eBay are giving us (  or "themselves") positive feedback for postage when we use Simple Delivery:  7 days after tracking confirms a successful delivery. To try to make us happy ? They could have done this in the past.

Just been reading all text again regarding Simple Delivery.

" It’s designed to reduce the effort that shipping takes" ...  Let's see ?

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It’s similar on vinted

if buyer doesn’t leave feedback you eventually get a “auto feedback - sale completed successfully ” feedback and five stars

if you’re a seller who doesn’t send orders out  you get a 1 star and failed to complete transaction (can’t remember exact words)

I suppose it bumps up your feedback which might make buyers feel more assured?

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Those AI-generated listing details, that frequently contain information that contradicts item specifics, and even the images, have me leaving the listing immediately, avoiding the seller and looking elsewhere. The intelligence there, is without question, artificial. I love sellers that post images with underarm-to-underarm, and other vital measurements, or, are going to the trouble of putting those details in the item description. A listing full of information, means my not having to message and wait for a response - that, along with 100% feedback and glowing reviews, has me make the purchase without confusion or compunction. I love it when it is that straightforward. Like eBay used to be...

I grow ever more tired, of the AI-generated nonsense, lack of pertinent information in listings, meaning you have to send a message to a seller to ask for it, and the amount of unanswered messages I have sent, checking back weeks, or months later to find, the item is still for sale, has me question, where have all the serious eBay sellers gone? Vinted, E-Bid, DePop et. al.

I no longer buy multiple items from sellers that say they combine postage, having been stung with ridiculous, exorbitant charges, that are a blatant effort to capitalise on both the sale and the postage - stung more times than anyone with half a brain should have been, I can't take the risk any more. I had one seller say they combine, she issued an invoice for 4 x 3.70 postage. She wanted nearly 15 GBP, for sending four garments, postage at a cost to her of no more than 5 GBP. I believe eBay has bred this callous behaviour, with their constant tinkering/ meddling with, changing and destruction of policies, that once worked well for everyone. It's like Agent Orange and his tariff insanity, manipulating markets to suit him/ his agenda, and compromise everybody else. I don't get bored, only boring people get bored, but trying to navigate eBay nowadays bores me to tears. I had recently, won three bags from a seller, they were low start bids and nobody bid against me. It is emblazoned on every single one of her listings, that she combines postage - the larger charge for the first item, an additional 50p for each extra item. She had changed her settings, so I could not Request Total. I requested the invoice via messaging, immediately after the auction ended for the the third bag. Thereafter commenced a farce of epic proportions - "I can't change the settings", "I don't know how to do the invoice", "I've sent the invoice", "I've sent the invoice again" (she hadn't), "there's a problem", "I don't know what the problem is", "I don't know what to do", "I'm losing the will to live"; I bought into her game and repeatedly told her, "eBay agents are there for us all, they are good at solving problems, they will walk you through it, they will help you set it up properly...", she said she would ring them, so, I waited for my invoice. I didn't believe a word of it - her profile is 14 years old, many thousands of sales, 2.5k feedback...I was being played, and two days later, I finally found out why - she messaged me to say, she would list them on Vinted, I should buy them on there (I'd already won them on eBay), she would coordinate messages with me to make sure nobody else bought them...all to avoid eBay fees; she wanted me to breach eBay policy, buying off-platform, throwing over my integrity and risking the suspension, or termination of my eBay account, all because she didn't get enough for the bags and didn't want to pay eBay fees. How much would I have found each bag to have increased in price, on Vinted, I wonder? This is what eBay are doing - creating scenarios within which policy is breached, by the brave and the stupid. I am neither. I'm sorry for this lengthy message, I'm a verbose individual at the best of times, but I had to graphically-illustrate my point, necessitating a lot of words!

Peace, love & solidarity!

Respectfully, that's a lot of information to digest. I just scanned over it, however:

Anyone who uses an AI description is to be avoided. It's the opitomy of lazy listing. Like using stock images.

Combined postage is simple to calculate. It's not something to be profited from. Yet again, avoid.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I  would like to send out a under 2kg Medium sized parcel using the Royal Mail Tracked 48 system

The choices I have are

Buy in a convenient local Post Office        £6.29

Buy  online at Royal Mail Online                   £5.15

Buy online at Post Office Online                   £6.55

Why is buying at www.postoffice.co.uk/mail

So expensive, £1.40 more than off Royal Mail.

26p more than going into a Post Office

I am not wanting to use Ebays Simple Delivery

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I had some money sitting in my ebay balance so I’ve just been in to ‘Request a Payout’ and arrange for that amount to be transferred out and into my account.

Since I won’t be listing anything or buying anything on ebay for the foreseeable future due to the imposition of ‘Simple’ Delivery, no point in leaving that money in ebay until the next automatic payout date! (which is the first Tuesday of July).

p.s. (Where’s rugbyguy1960 gone?  He’s not been around at all today.  Kudos to him for starting this epic thread!)

If your seller had been subjected to 'Simple Delivery', she was very likely telling the truth.

Simple delivery makes combined shipping a complete bin-fire.

It's impossible to understand.

If it was S.D. , don't blame the messenger......

And don't believe that ebay CS know the answers and will 'walk her through it'..... they generally don't have the foggiest either.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Isn't there a little disclaimer sentence at the bottom of a new listing page that states " that the seller is responsible for the accuracy of the listing"

How does that work then if relying on the AI description

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I had money in my ebay sales balance " to spend on ebay" so out of my £30 balance I spent £8 on a CD, then next thing I get is a bank notification on my phone saying I'd just spent £8 from my card on ebay.

So instead of reducing my balance to £22, ebay sit on my £30 and take another £8 from me for the privilege of doing so.

Cheers ebay another non functioning feature.

Can I ask why Ebay are showing that you only joined on  09 Apr, 2025.

It maybe that is preventing funds  being withdrawn for such recent sales.
