AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

so another firm going into business with EVRI! Well that is another one i will avoid like the plague. EVRI cannot cope now with the amount of business they have so how will they go forward in the future?.

Their vast network and reputation in logistics is crucial in making this happen safely and securely as we work towards a full rollout in 2026 – and will make it easier than ever for our customers to buy and sell pre-loved goods in the UK.
It's almost funny. Reputation? The bosses of gumtree clearly haven't been paying attention. With their terrible reputation Evri must be offering really good terms to sign up with these companies. It will be interesting to see if gumtree experience the same problems as ebay.

Just had the option to use Custom Postage removed from my account. Was able to use it up until today.
I think that's me done on ebay now.

Selling And buying on some of these platforms is a absolute nightmare for private sellers. Especially as the platforms are trying to outdo each other.

One way or another this platform are making things as difficult as possible for private sellers.

I think they are going to implode! I received an Evri delivery yesterday. It was left in full view of the street, by my front door and directly under the sign saying ‘All deliveries round the back please’ 🙄 it was only by chance I saw the delivery notification and I was home at the time. All couriers have been officially notified where our safe place is and how parcels have to be left there. Neither Yodel or Evri have got the memo/figured it out yet although our old Evri courier was faultless in her deliveries with no complaints. New guy seems to throw stuff in the general area as parcels are often found in various gardens/over walls and fences of the random addresses which are not the delivery address.

We've just experienced the same. Because its been bucketing with rain we put a note (A4 sized) asking for parcels to be in to our porch. All the couriers have been updated with this instruction. We had a parcel arrive by Evri (late - but that's another story) which was left in the rain, no ring on the door bell or knock on the front door. I just happened to see the delivery van disappearing down the road and decided to check and was in time to rescue the parcel before it became too sodden. One of those orders where the company didn't disclose the courier until after the parcel had been posted.

We used the A4 method at first but now we have bought a sign that is permanently fixed to our front door in the hopes it would be read properly. Waste of time with Evri, although some amazon drivers are the same despite a note on my account. I complained to amazon though and its been better since. We don’t use our front door due to a freezer being in the way and when the weather changes, I struggle to move so the last thing I need is to have to go out the back door, round to the front to pick up a parcel. Particularly if its heavy.

Simple solution, to avoid evri use click and collect whenever possible, if a seller doesn't use it, find another that does even if it costs a few more pence.
Don't buy off Amazon! I refuse to give bezos a penny . Its worked for me for over 10 years and it isn't a hardship.

Isn't Click & Collect from eBay operated by Evri themselves? Meaning the parcel gets delivered to evri parcelshop?nim pretty sure thatbwas how it worked when I last used eBay click & collect

Can anyone shed any light please, I've just tried to put a test listing on under large letter but can only see an option for simple delivery, do all postal formats now come under simple delivery?

Just realised it's because the price of my test item is over £20

I have just got a bid on a book, it's simple delivery, (I didn't choose it), but it says member in Portugal. Normally when sold, I get the address, then if buyers address is Portugal I would cancel sale. Simple delivery I won't get address. My question is:- will eBay carry on with label and sale or will they see Portugal (and everywhere overseas) is on my excludes list and not do postage label?, and because it's simple delivery I won't be in on any conversation between buyer and ebay.

Are you opted into the global shipping program without your knowledge?
19-11-2025 11:06 AM
Why should anyone have to use click and collect, i pay for delivery to my door not to have to travel at least two miles to collect a parcel. Never a problem with any other firm but EVRI so i buy from anyone that only uses them.

Just checked, no not enrolled. I thought people couldn't bid if they come from an excluded country. I used to see them on my requirement list as "couldn't bid as coming from somewhere I don't post to."
19-11-2025 11:29 AM
Maybe they won't be able to pay. You could cancel their bid?
19-11-2025 11:38 AM
Taken a screenshot of "not enrolled in global shipping", just in case eBay decide to change things later and say I was enrolled! Think I will try contacting her first to see if she wanted it delivered here before cancelling.

Its been a long while since I sold anything due to simple delivery but you should be able to see what postage price the buyer has been quoted by changing you location to Portugal and then looking at your listing . Its not as difficult as it seems and I think its on a drop down menu . Remember to change back if you do
It could be although they are registered in Portugal they have a UK delivery address. Rather that lose a bid etc I would message the bidder explaining that you don't post to Portugal and see what happens. I don't think SD should stop you doing this but I am out of practice 🙂
Good luck

I thought I'd excluded all countries outside of the UK, then I discovered that excluding Europe really only means Russia by default. I had to manually exclude every European country individually. It's not obvious that you have to do that.
