NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Again - the listing page stating 'You'll pay £2.94' would be based on the assumption customer is delivering to home address. Should really state you'll pay from £2.26. The terms themselves are certainly in your favour given they state you'll pay the cost associated with the label - and they then state what the associated label costs are!

You can raise it with customer services - though I'd say you might be better raising the issue on the weekly Wednesday chat. They normally post a link to this on the forums on the Tuesday - but I think it runs 2pm on a Wednesday.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It gets even worse on here.

I've never been a fan of evri and never will be.

The timescales for posting items is all over the place.

Ive been put off Simple Delivery even more than ever.

Ebay are now saying they are having difficulties connecting with RM for tracking info so advise people to get info on tracking from RM.

Also according to ebay my package from the US is out for delivery by evri but evri tracking says they'll notify me when it's out for delivery.

So not only do the ebay postage timescales affect sellers and buyers, they are also effecting ebays partners.

Hopefully EBay will go back to how it was pre April 2025.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

They need to totally re-invent SD, and learn more about their whole idea of postage timescales.

Somehow they are managing to make everyone disillusioned.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

The last parcel I had delivered was via Evri and found their tracking to be pretty good. Found eBays tracking for the item really  vague and will just use the couriers tracking in the future.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I very rarely say anything positive about evri because I would never use them by choice.

However they are much better with their timescale tracking information than ebay are.

Ebay really are out of their depth regarding postage timescales and tracking info.

This is just another reason why Simple Delivery is horrendous for me as a seller and buyer

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Or just simply rewind to pre April 2025. I also think allowing an extra day
or so to dispatch over the previous maximum of 3 wouldn’t hurt.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Yes & they ripped me off for an unused label (not SD) when the courier shop refused my parcel & was unable to void said label It was £3.70 That's not all ebay also ripped me off for an unused SD label when I was charged £2.70 for a SD label when I only got £2.50 for a freepost sale. I  refused to use said label & paid my usual £1.55 to the post office THEN I found out I couldn't get a refund for the £2.70 SD

Ebay are robbing scum who own me £6.40 I hope an ebay employee reads this.

Sadly EBay doesn’t seem to listen to customer feedback. They pretend they
do clearly don’t.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Ebay just don't get it do they?..they just do not get what they've done to their sellers & buyers...i've just taken down over half my listings - all which have had Simple Delivery enforced on them - I may faff around with re-listing them with "the work-around" in the coming days /weeks so that I can post them out the way "I" want to post them BUT it's become almost soul-destroying using this site now.

I've not sold a single thing in 6 weeks & have barely spent £20 on here since August 1st (11 weeks)...I used to do most of my online shopping on ebay but if i'm not making any money on here then i'm certainly not spending any on here...out of principle if anything else.

When are they going to reverse / repair this utter mess?

Sad thing is, it's not worth pursuing £6,40 in a small claims court due to the hassle and associated fees involved! but yeah don't use Simple Delivery (not Simple at all)

The amount of hoops I have to go through to force custom postage now is insane. It's almost like they don't want private sellers using custom postage.

SD should be made optional !

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

yes bt are Ebay deliberately hiding functions or the geeks who do the tech develop stuff designing things properly. When I first came on ebay it was much simpler - no hidden functions & it was great to sell on here now it's a dinasaur. They (or the geeks) may call it imovation but they are kidding themselves. I'm a bit of a luddite so hate change esspecially if it makes things worse

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I've just sold a postcard which I had listed as £1.50 postage  It appears unknown to me.. Ebay have changed it and charged the seller £3.50!!! I'm surprised he bought it at this price. On checking my other Postcards I am selling It appears Ebay have changed all the postage costs to this price without my consent or knowledge... No wonder I ain't selling any..I'm sure what they are doing is illegal..

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

@wiganyankeeron  You could always refund him some of that postage to avoid a "postage was to high" feedback. I take it you have changed the postcards back to the postage you wanted? They look OK now.

I feel the need to say that the buyer would have paid less on SD and would not be able to leave postage feedback.  I knew we would find a positive for SD one day.

Hi @wiganyankeeron  You probably need to customise your table. Mine shows in the column headed P C after End Date

No BPF on domestic postage costs. SD or custom.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Doesn’t the BPF get added to the final sale amount, not postage costs as
sometimes items are collected.

To any would-be claimants: include court fees and allowable expenses (e.g. travel, loss of earnings for attending court) as part of your claim. The judge decides after the case, usually ordering the loser to pay the winner's costs. In other words, losing your court fees isn't a given.

Lowest fee band is for claims under £300, which is why my searches suggest (only suggest) a lot of small claims are in that band, with the most-often used band being up to £500.

Legal representation or advice costs aren't recoverable (usually) so most claimants don't hire solicitors. You don't need to as it's fairly straightforward and these days you can look it up on the internet.

A lot of injustices and bullying by companies occurs as they know most people won't go to court.

Maybe forget about court and publicise via social media or a local/national newspaper consumer page and telling family, friends and colleagues?

I wonder if companies close accounts of those who take it to court regardless of who wins?
