NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Of course, there is the rare example of the cost to send a medium parcel by Royal Mail tracked 48 through SD is only £3.38 as opposed to the 'public' online cost of £3.45, so it's actually cheaper through SD, providing it fits as a small parcel.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Just tried to cancel an SD label and get a message that SD labels can't be
cancelled??? Has this changed? Is this correct?

Cancel your postage label
Simple Delivery postage labels can't be cancelled. It's recommended you use
the label for the following reasons:
* Your label is prepaid: It's already been paid for - either by the
buyer or by you if free delivery was offered.
* Package size will be accepted: The courier will accept your package
even if it's larger or heavier than what's shown on the label, as long as
it's within their maximum size limits.
* No printer needed: Simply save the QR code or barcode to your phone
and show it when handing over the package. If you booked courier collection,
they'll bring the label to you when picking it up.
* Hassle-free protection: Your item is fully covered by eBay from the
moment it's scanned until it's delivered. We'll handle any buyer claims or
courier issues on your behalf.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I get the feeling eBay is closing every loophole and work around of Simple Delivery...... I can't see how people thought they would be able to keep using work arounds, especially as people are posting work arounds or loopholes..... There is only one thing to do, stop ...! Otherwise nothing is going to change

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

With a collection hopefully a buyer won't have paid for postage at all, so should be no SD label.

With unused labels, if buyer paid then they will (eventually) get a refund. After around 30 days or so?

If a seller paid, they will have to ask Ebay nicely for their money back.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It's all very well eBay saying send it anyway, but they don't care if too much was paid for postage or the courier hits you with a surcharge. If the postage was overpaid, or you think eBay might hold you responsible for it being underpaid, you need to cancel the label - the package being guaranteed to be accepted is not good enough. If you have offered 'free' postage it is unclear how you can be refunded. Anyway, how can the label not be cancelled ultimately if you don't use it? If you can't cancel the label, you might need to cancel the transaction, even though 'wrong postage' is not one of the available cancellation reasons, and you will need to contact the buyer, explaining why and that you could relist it with corrected postage, but eBay is apparently trying to stop you communicating with the buyer. It's either 'trolling' or a level of incompetence I could hardly have imagined.
At least it's 'simple' I suppose, not like when you had the complicated problem of choosing your own postage.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

What happens if a seller has paid for, and doesn’t use the label? Just sold
an item where postage by R.M. would be £2.00 Ebay have charged me £2.72 for
the postage label..

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I meant whats the situation if after the sale the item is collected or delivered by hand? How do you now get a refund for the label you have paid for?

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

In theory, you may be able to argue that charging a seller the 'correct' (tho' untracked) postage was good customer service and encouraged repeat sales, etc.

On this occasion Ebay may refund the cost of the unused SD label to your account but you will have to ask them for it and fill in a request form.

And it's almost certainly not what they would want you to do in future, so you may be reminded to make sure you use their label next time.

"Cash on collection back now? Discovered this on playing with my new workaround:"

Is that on the app?  I use a laptop, and I've just tested it by making a draft item "Collection Only" and even when I deselect "Immediate payment required", it doesn't give me an option for Cash.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

You have to set up a payment policy to do it - first time that I have ever had to set up a policy. You can set up several for various carriers. This seems to be aimed at business users mainly but has appeared today when I checked my draft under my old workaround. I haven't a clue as to how it works though.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I really do not know why there are people on here looking for loopholes to simple delivery It is in fact  a abomination and a corrupt policy to have been shoved down everyone's throats it removes your freedom as a seller to choose your OWN delivery method For your OWN items  Its disrespectful and insulting to every seller

Example : Trump stated on National television that all the countries in the world where lining up to kiss his ass for a trade deal  Do you really want to kiss ass If you want change you are not going to get it looking for loopholes There is only one way to get change STOP using simple delivery until it becomes an option There are many on here that are refusing to sell on eBay since this was forced on everyone and I applauded them, I will not uses Simple delivery all of my ads have been changed to collection in person only  I will not buy anything on eBay until Simple delivery is made a option  I refuse to be made into a puppet just to appease a controlling organisation

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Change all your listings to “collection only” and in the listing ask people
to message you if they cannot collect for one reason or another to arrange
for an alternative way to get the item to them, whether it he you
delivering to them, someone collecting on their behalf or some other way by
agreement…
