AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

It has become very draconian and because most of us use common sense it's not liked.

People get what they pay for. There is no comparison whatsoever between evri and RM.

RM come out tops every time. I know that's only my opinion but many many others feel the same.

As a ex postie a spoke to one of the regular posties this morning and he confirmed that any arrangements are done between RM and post offices.

If a post office owner or postmaster wants to refuse to accept a package until things are actually put in writing between both parties then there will be discrepancies. Plus maybe common sense is being used by some post offices at present which is something that is in great shortage here.

You have said many times that Facts should be paramount so without facts it's only classed as a opinion.

That is true, but it is equally possible to point out obvious inaccuracies, whether these be accidental or intentional.

Facts are important, but, to be a fact, something needs to be true.

It's definitely become unbelievable for a platform that is only primarily a place for people to sell and buy on.

Most of this is totally self inflicted. You couldn't actually dream this scenario up.

But being impartial here the addresses of the post offices were given.

If anyone had any doubts then a number could be found and they could have been rang.

But without actual proof or fact then it is only a view or a opinion which in your own words isn't something that should be taken seriously.

Then it will be the first award in my 72 years, but I’m still monitoring eBay to see if I can master all the new ways as I still have a lot of stuff to get rid of. My last few items on from before the changes have slowly been selling. Hope I can get back to listing as it passed away many an hour and I enjoyed it.

Exactly.  So even those post offices that DO try to follow the rules are being thwarted by  contradictory and confusing guidelines.   As I have mentioned before, having worked in the corporate world, and suffered many  disastrous 'roll outs', I know only too well how little information people are provided with, and how open to individual interpretation the information may be.   A 'roll out' NEVER goes smoothly, as these companies don't consult their people and are totally unaware of potential problems until they start happening, and then the endless 'updates' begin which cause even more confusion.  From what you have said, this is clearly what is happening with eBay's SD and post offices.    We are all aware that eBay are not going to ditch these policies any time soon, and certainly not as a result of a few of us moaning on a forum thread, so there would be no point in making things up to stir up trouble. The only thing that will change their minds is the bottom line.   The only sensible reason for coming on this thread is to offer support and share experiences as to how SD works in practice, in an attempt to fill the information void left by eBay itself.  Some of this information we have shared with each other may have been well meant but turn out to be incorrect as things become more clear.    The reality is bonkers enough as it is without making stuff up.

Very true and well said.

In fact contrary to what some people might think or believe I went along with everything here for 19 years and would always recommend ebay.

However since all the policy changes and updates that have happened and enforced on people since the beginning of the year I have had my views and thoughts of 19 years changed in a matter of 5 months.

That has now shown me that things are very fundamentally wrong at present.

...and if I were to post that I had called one of the post offices in question, and they assured me that they were perfectly aware of the arrangements in place for eBay/SD, and that  of course they know that they can't add stamps to packages with Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 labels...

What then?

If you were not believed then you could be asked for the number.

Because I am impartial I could have gone through the posts until I found the one yesterday telling me that everything is all sorted between ebay, RM, and Post Offices but today I was told by a RM employee that agreements are done between RM and Post Offices.

I could have brought that point up earlier today but I chose not to.

My time is more valuable to me.

But obviously it seems that in principle things might be all done, but things aren't completely a cosy bed of roses yet.

Yeah. It's not worth the hassle of arguing about it. Click on any post office on Google Maps and you'll be given their phone number, so if someone really wanted to, they could, quite easily.

That's why I always think before I post.

Everyone is entitled to a view or a opinion if that's all it is. Anything else requires something to back themselves up.

well e bay have made a right dogs dinner of the recent changes so why should the PO and RM be any different.  Communication is the key and that is sadly lacking in all these organisations.

but no one is saying that the majority of post offices are well aware of the system, it is the minority who do not bother reading updates etc that will be the problem.
