AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

It was certainly used in the GLC in London around 1980 when I worked in one of their wages offices and yes that had recently become computerised.

I offer post free. If I use simple delivery its £3.40 if I do it myself its £2.40.
There's something wrong with EBay's thinking or is it just pure human greed

It’s interesting that one of the reasons you can use for getting an SD refund is:
- I wanted to use a different carrier other than the one selected by eBay!
Well if they didn’t make is mandatory it wouldn’t be a problem. They just seem to be digging themselves deeper and deeper in the the sh*t! Unbelievable!

From my wages office days. Most employees were paid by Giro printed out by computer and everything had a limited number of characters. People had to nominate there Post Office to cash their Giro. Several had addresses in Twickenham. The Post Office allowed the abbreviation to "Twickers"

Ebay is a total mess, even the support agents are speechless. Everyone needs to keep pushing for these changes to be reversed.

Maybe it would be better to let ebay continue to damage themselves as it's good for competition that other platforms are picking up the extra transactions? If ebay don't fail hard enough it will only be a short term tactical retreat before the next awful advancement.
I'm thinking Ebay need to be in enough pain and jeopardy that they learn to act with decency and respect and no longer feel empowered to take their buyers and sellers for granted.

Is this seriously a reason to refund? Or is cancellations rather than refund?
ebay seriously cannot expect sellers to refund because a buyer doesn't like the SD options. If this is the case is this something ebay refunds for rather than the seller?

Is this just the postage, not the item?? I was under the impression we have nothing to do with the postage in SD, so if they want their money back, it's comes from eBay. Flippin weird stuff going on..... 🙄

I have just scheduled 3 listing to start later tonight after not listing for several weeks as a test really. Jewellery listed without Simple Delivery.......i wonder if that will change once they go live 🙂

Maybe worth keeping an eye on them, the custom/advanced options had all gone here only leaving SD.
Only just noticed international postage is switch on by default as well? It wasn't like that the other day!

This is for sellers who have put their items on with "Free delivery" (Seller pays) on SD.
If the seller pays for the label, and doesn't use it, they need to request a refund.
If it's "buyer pays" and the label isn't used, the refund to the buyer comes through automatically, after a period of time, either 14 or 30 days, depending where you read.
I imagine this will be changed. For once I believe eBay is stepping over the mark on legality, if they reckon they can hold on to payment for services which were never provided. Sellers should be automatically refunded too, but eBay wants to make it as awkward as possible to avoid SD.
If/when they do need to reconsider, it may actually make them rethink some aspects of SD, as they have brought attention to the one sure-fire way of sellers avoiding SD. Sell post free - don't use SD - get the postage element refunded. If thousands, or even more, of people are doing this every day, the admin and processing costs will begin to hurt eBay.

Yes. Half the asking price and I never mind buyers taking a punt. But yes, I got that 2 days ago. I know RM is more expensive but only by a couple of £.
If they offered anything in the region of the asking price would have been fine.

Cheeky low offers are really quite offensive I think. I take the time to factor in the bpf and put things up at a decent price. Had something on a while ago at £150 and someone offered £50, I mean, yeah really tempted by that!!!! I just decline stupid offers now. Mind you, these days I'm not sure if the offer includes the bpf or not. I think it does but I've heard horrendous stories that the bpf was taken out of the offer, so I've taken best offer off stuff now as I don't want to risk it. There's no information on the offer to help explain!?! Yeah there's taking a punt and then there's sheer cheek!!!

I would have replied with ‘thanks for your comments, they have been noted and no thanks’! Some people really take the biscuit!

They really can be offensive, I don’t trust people that offer with a very unrealistic price, had my fingers burned in the past. They eventually offered an okay price, I accepted, they received the item and said it was defective!

Yes, it offended me.
But the Simple Delivery comment was the end. Reduce the price by £2, yes, O.K. but asking half price because S.D. would make sending the item at a price acceptable to me? No, it isn't.

I have just had an email from Ebay about seeing your selling activity , not that useful as I am not selling 🙂
https://www.ebay.co.uk/mes/order-earnings?external=1&sh=true&source=EMAIL&
However it does have a handy feedback box if anyone want to pass on their thoughts to the wonderful people at Ebay
P.S the link above will probably need an account email but may work without one 🙂
