AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

That certainly won't be the figures they would be wanting to see here.

Yes i keep seeing 0 to all my views but the watchers are still there ,so who is fiddling there ,it is so annoying .1 minute there are lots of views and then non at all ,and then they are back again a few minutes later

That really highlights the old saying "you'll never realise what you had until you lost it".

Have come across that as well, watchers buy no view. Seems you get a watcher if someone clicks on the heart image on your main picture.
Thats if Iv understood what you mean.

That's where I'm heading in the near future.

I doubt that very much. The last time I looked the major shareholders of both were the same US corporate investors. I'm convinced that et sy was only set-up (with an ex-ebay CEO) to make it easier to deny that ebay had a monopoly in the on-line collectables market.
To me they're ebay mk2 with an even more efficient system of fleecing their sellers than ebay. That's why their fee structure is as clear as mud. Several times on here I've seen quotes about sellers there being shocked to find they've paid 30% of a sale in fees.
It's one reason ebay isn't worried when they anger their sellers, many who have left have gone to et-sy in protest. Probably not knowing that they're still filling the same corporate pockets with their fees.

So my read of it is they have thrown out some zero value stuff (compliments and getting paid faster on feedback at higher values). reminded us of some other free stuff they gave before (automated feedback that I would prefer not to have) and accepted it was totally unacceptable to charge more than list price on RM small parcels and the need for combined shipping. It's unclear if the are eating the 30p collection charge or if that is to come from item proceeds.
Next on my list are taking all sub £20 Large Letter out of SD completely, showing the buyer the names of the carriers so they can make an informed choice, combining the buyer tax, rename the tax from protection to simply platform fee, supporting seller defined bundle discounts, stop showing buyers ex-vat and ex-tax prices...
06-05-2025 10:45 PM
Yes you are getting what I mean ,it just amazes me how you can have people watching your items but they haven't viewed them ,nearly all my listings had views and a few had watchers and then all the views dissapeared and just watchers remained ,and then all the views appeared again .
06-05-2025 10:48 PM
Could that be because some of your listings auto relisted and it took a little while for watchers to watch again. I had that happen to me when I had some items listed.

That sort of thing often means that they're trying to "fix" something in the background.

Fix or violate ??

Most public company shareholder registers have Blackrock and Vanguard at the top due to the popularity of passive index fund investing where the asset manager just buys a bit of everything in according to it's market capitalization in the expectation that by keeping costs low and holding the shares long term it usually outperforms the active investors who are charging higher ongoing fees and busy incurring costs trading frequently trying to out-do each other in a zero sum game. Passive is a good investing strategy but it does present corporate governance issues where too much power rests with certain companies who are not transparent to the investors in how they are influencing the board.

Possibly neither, just fiddling around and one of those 😲 Oops!! moments.

Totally agree, Anti-Trust regulators in the US and Monopolies and Mergers in the UK should not be so fixated on companies like ebay. It's the shareholders who own large chunks of all the companies in a sector that are running cartels because they have the power to influence all the boards.
Last time I looked the two you mention were both major shareholders in ebay, et-sy, amazon, paypal and possibly some of the smaller sites as well. It's why there is so little real competition in so many industries and services, lots of different names, all controlled by the same funds.
Didn't we just read that ebay has bought shares in evri ? And wasn't the rush to push private sellers into MP so quickly was that ebay had share options riding on how quickly they handed over a certain number of their customers to adyen?

Royal Mail’s ‘Bring My Label’ service
To make things easier and faster for you, we’ll soon be adding a service where you’ll be able to book a home collection with Royal Mail directly through eBay, and a postage label will be brought to you at the time of collection. This way, when a postal worker comes to collect your item, they’ll bring the label with them, saving you the hassle of printing it yourself.
How it works:
When generating the postage label on our website, you’ll see the option to book a Royal Mail collection.
Once you've clicked on this, you'll be able to finalise your collection details and select your collection date.
After confirming this, just click the Get prepaid label button. You’ll then be taken to a confirmation page, which will show your collection date, a reminder that a postal worker will bring the label, along with other options.
The postal worker will then bring the label when collecting your item, allowing for a completely printerless shipping experience.
Sorry, not a new feature. Done this already for 2 years and was FREE.

Same here. But if I remember right it was called Royal Mail not Simple Delivery.

^ It's actually quite insulting that they think we're so stupid as to be taken in by them claiming it's a "benefit", when people have been able to book a Royal Mail label and collect-from-home for years.
Just like they think we've forgotten that we used to get paid when the buyer paid, and they now claim it's a "benefit" that we can get paid when the buyer gives feedback, which they hardly ever do anyway.
😡

Same. I'm using through desktop and anything I click revise on tries to switch to simple delivery woth no way to stop it, as there's no longer a advance option to custom my own postage. I trued ending I tem so I could add needed revisions and relist that way but now I'm stuck unable to relist my most expensive item as its only simple delivery no options to switch advanced absolutely disgusting. This option also forces 2 day dispatch. After being ripped off by packlin other year I've refused to use their simple delivery as they just scammed extra fees months later after delivery down the line. I'm fuming

I've tried sell similar and nothing works.. I did type in search bar heavy item and it bypassed to custom but couldn't complete listing as I hadn't got pics from deleted listing and now when I go back no way to get it. Even declaring selling furniture. There's no way I can clear my stiff out now
