AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

For the items I sold from my personal collection that I sent using large letter padded envelopes there is no way that SD would work out cheaper than dealing with RM direct so I definitely agree with what you've said.

If you use stamps for RM letter size services there is less of a price difference than the online price paid for parcels etc, so you are getting a better value for your stamps.

I so agree with what you've said. I think you've described how most of us think and feel.

I have put up on Ebay seven new listings today using Simple Delivery
4 upto 1 kg 61x46x46 at £2.94
3 1kg to 2kg 61x46x46 at £3.44
These were all cheaper than buying off Royal Mail online at £3.45 although saving 1p is not life altering
15-04-2025 5:37 PM
The Royal Mail large letter rate actually went down from £2.10 to £2.00 on 7th April - a rate I use to sell low value DVDs that I sell for £2 plus postage. Now the postage is £2.74 as it has to be tracked - simply not worth it for a low value items when a free certificate of postage gives cover in case of loss in any event.

If I actually sold any items that were packages in that weight bracket I'd gladly pay the 1p extra purely from the point of view that if there were any postage problems I'd be able to deal with RM directly.

That's all you need to do to earn a masters degree in Marketing , learn to lie and talk gibberish in a way that that makes you sound wonderful when you are talking to yourself or like minded colleagues ( sycophants ) , while everyone else realises what shallow vacuous ?**! they actually are . 🙂
I just been looking at Ebay's fees I have paid over the last 4 years , that's money Ebay won't be getting again from me or any similar Seller for a very long time .
The shareholders and Investors will be asking questions when they realise what a cluster f!*K this all is .
Whereas VTD is boot fair app , Ebay wants to become the pound shop platform making 20p per sale .

Right I’ve already put this in my about page. I have unpaused sales but I won’t be processing orders for the time being. I won’t be forced to use simple delivery and I’m willing to risk my good reputation on eBay. So any orders from now on will not be processed and I’m hoping that when enough orders have been unfulfilled eBay will get in touch to find out and why and then I can tell them where they can stick their simple delivery
15-04-2025 5:47 PM
4 x £2.94 using 'Simple Delivery' = £11.76
4 x £2.69 using Yodel (via Packlink) = £10.76
How does that "save you money" as per eBay's claim?
15-04-2025 5:49 PM
" if there were any postage problems I'd be able to deal with RM directly."
Under Simple Delivery you would not be involved at all, as Ebay say they handle all problems.

A bold move and good luck. Feedback used to count quite considerably but nowadays it hardly counts at all. That's how much these changes have affected things.

There is an old saying about banks:- "they will lend you an umbrella til it starts to rain, then they want it back again."
15-04-2025 5:54 PM
Does that sizing come from Ebay as that is RM Medium parcels max dimensions
I would guess the £2.94 is for Evri and the £3.44 is a rate for RM 48 small packets. If you don't allow Evri is everything £3.44
For RM Ebay I think are selling a label for small packets 45 x 35 x 16cm. its now wonder there are so many issues when dropping off over sized packages etc
So this so unbelievably messy ,
15-04-2025 5:54 PM
My only fear with that is I have lost the trust that I had and on many occasions sellers have said that a lot of outcomes are heavily favoured in the buyers favour. But I do wish you good luck.

Ode to simple delivery
As we're forced into using SD
I can't see myself using it
Despite all the money we've made them
They're happy to treat us like dirt
Just couldn't think of a rhyme for the end 🤔😂😂😂
15-04-2025 5:58 PM
Sorry but I was replying to people who said they were buying off, and wanted to buy off, Royal Mail online not any of the couriers available in UK
15-04-2025 5:59 PM
"So any orders from now on will not be processed and I’m hoping that when enough orders have been unfulfilled eBay will get in touch to find out and why and then I can tell them where they can stick their simple delivery "
As rugbyguy1960 says, a bold move indeed, although anybody who reads your 'About Me' page first isn't likely to actually then place an order - except, of course, hardly anyone does read those pages, so it might just work!
15-04-2025 5:59 PM
Well not a ending you could post 😂.
15-04-2025 6:02 PM
As much as I wanted to

The new term is “Simpleton” delivery by EBay
