AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I have already noticed a significant drop in Sales, and in listings I was even remotely interested in as a Buyer, since they introduced Buyer Protection Fees, so I think the number of listings generally has fallen considerably. And because I’ve SOLD less I’ve BOUGHT less, particularly as the few listings that were of interest were mostly too expensive due to the addition of BPF!
With Simple Delivery being so unpopular and people threatening to leave that means less Sellers and less Buyers so the downward spiral continues. Is that too hard for eBay to understand or are they like Donald Trump and belligerently doing what they want despite all common sense (and knowledgeable folk) suggesting otherwise

I'll also miss the repeat buyers that brought from me who obviously were happy how I did things otherwise they wouldn't be repeat buyers.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits and may their arms be too short to scratch them 😁

I've only ever sold one thing as collection only. I think if I remember right the buyer gets some info to message or contact you but I can't guarantee that's still the case due to so many changes to this platform.

I have already noticed over the last year that there are nowhere near the amount of items on offer in the usual categories I search for. The amount of items (vintage and unique) have been declining rapidly. There used to be pages of newly listed items to search through each morning, now there are just one or two! It doesn't help that when I type in 'vintage' I now have to trail through lots of 'vintage like' brand new items to find what I actually asked for! After 20 plus years (had a previous account also) I have seen a slow decline. I truly believe these latest rules will be the final nail in the coffin. It may take a few months or more to filter through but I have already stopped purchasing items. If they are making it so difficult for me to sell why on earth would I line their pockets by buying more stuff? It will save me an absolute fortune!

My listings will come off on the 5th or 6th and I've hardly brought anything for weeks.

Yup that was my life too. I was just temporarily owning stuff while I tried it out and learned about it before I resold it to recover most of the value back to buy the next novelty on whatever topic I was obsessing about next. The buyer tax woke me up to that and this Stupid Delivery has strengthened my determination to stop buying on ebay and live a simpler life.
Giving up the ebay addiction would definitely be a good thing for me and my financial health.
It's now a bit of a weight -loss style challenge to see how low my ebay spending can go. Not spent a penny on ebay in recent days which doesn't sound very impressive but that's amazing for me. I also want to have a minimalist lifestyle and that's only going to be possible when I haven't got boxes of interesting ebay stuff arriving every day!

The simple delivery will cripple the private independent post offices too because they make their money through commission they aren't salaried so they get no money for dealing with the simple delivery parcels because someone else has already been paid .My friend owns one of these independent post offices and she said it will get to the stage that she will have to call it a day because her and her staff are basically working for nothing when dealing with these SD items .

Does anyone have an email address of a REAL person at eBay we could all spam, I mean, send our thoughts on Simple Delivery to, and our threats to leave the platform?

They must have made a huge amount from me over the last 20 years as a buyer/seller. But not anymore for the foreseeable future.

No one man enough there for that!

Someone posted 2 email addresses earlier today but that was a lot of posts ago I'm afraid.

I would like to wish you all the very best for the future. I have revised my listings, they will end in 5 days time after 10 years plus on eBay. I sell some of my own things I have accumulated over the years but also for people I know who are not tech savvy and who have had to downsize etc. Most of the money they made on their sales went to charities so they will miss out. I always file a tax return so anything due to the lovely people there is sorted out so they will miss out too, not that I will shed much of a tear for them 😂.
Maybe one day when all this madness is over we shall all be back!

You can only exchange details, for Collection items, after the buyer has paid thro eBay.

The impact of these latest changes really need looking into by a relevant person who's not on this platforms payroll.

Thank you for clarifying the process. I couldn't remember it for sure.
