AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

This is ridiculous, I walk to the Post Office around the corner. I don't know what a QR code is. No wonder things aren't selling with all these impositions EBay has lost it. I wonder what trading standards would say about this and buyers protection fee-its nuts. EBay has lost it

I was waiting for other platforms to make offers to entice users on here to go on their platforms. Hopefully more platforms will do the same.
I actually took a few minutes out to send 2 emails to 2 people but I won't hold my breath on getting a sensible serious reply. I really do believe they have gone one step to far this time and even the posts on this thread seem to back that up.

Yes , they have Free, Silver, Gold & Platinum . Plat lets you pretty well sell as much as you want , others have restrictions on the amount you can post to sell.

Just spotted that the daily mirror have reported the story along with some other local tabloids, good to get this atrocious development out in the open.

Lol ask for help and all that is available to me is chatbot and the community, cs seem to be hiding in a a dark cave somewhere learning to make flint tools and fire for their defence

2 National papers in a matter of days reporting on this. The powers that be must start taking this response and unhappiness seriously soon.

Yes it will be big news soon, people are talking about monopolies i can see this ending very badly for Ebay another court case? I hope so they got stung at least twice now. One was $59 million for selling pill presses

We can only hope🤞

Which is the other one i know about the mirror

I agree. They have seriously lost the plot and don't seem to realise it yet.

I keep hinting and bothering some friends I know who have the cash to be able to do something like this. But as they both don't use Obey they have no idea how bad it is and that there is a big private selling marketplace to be harnessed if it was set up right. We've had over 20 years of these kinds of sites so we know what works and doesn't work and profit can be made by everyone if done right.

The sun, but the experts they used weren't that expert.

We are the experts people that have used this site for decades

At least this appearing in 2 national papers might hopefully get the right people to look into what they are doing to users.

It would be great if a UK platform for private buyers and sellers that suited most would start up.
02-04-2025 1:07 PM
The more the better because it might get the right people looking at the practices happening on here.

From what I saw yesterday their guess at working out your packaged is based on stuff you may have entered on previous and can't edit on the new listing , if like me you use the "sell similar" option as an ongoing template .
It's simply bug ridden code that has not been tested across the full range of uses .
When it does start seriously screwing up all sellers need to be aware that as ebay charge a "buyer protection " fee it is their mess to sort out and as sellers you will be impacted as the chances are Ebay won't pass on your money if the item has been delivered .
I would suggest every time a failure occurs then just email ebay senior management as a 1st port of call
