NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I don’t see why not

if Royal Mail get paid for the parcel , eBay gets paid for the label,  the buyer gets it, whose going to complain

unless they don’t accept this in post offices anymore

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

One reason I started selling on here was that I knew my items would find good homes. Charity shops near me are rather picky, shall I say, and I know that some of the things I've sold here, for all their faults (adequately described), would just have been binned at the charity shop.

One drawback is that I will no longer be able to send some of what I made to Ukrainian charities. i don't want to give up on them so I'm going to have to find some other way of supporting them.

A lot of people don't have printers and for various reasons cannot get to drop off points

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Is it correct that if you use simple delivery and send using Royal mail, if you print off the label you can't then organise  Royal mail to collect. Ebay state you can get it collected but I don't see how. I thought it was only free collection if you generated and paid for the label on Royal mail website.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Me neither by the looks of it. I live in the rural North of Scotland and can’t drive to drop off points for medical reasons. There’s no public transport. My husband can drive me to the local post office but only on a Friday afternoon, the nearest Evri parcel shop is 70 miles away.

Also as I don’t need them for anything (and wouldn’t know how to use/maintain them) I don’t own a computer or printer - so although  I see that you can now choose to disable Evri and book a Royal Mail collection after being sent the label, they won’t bring the label and you can’t hand-write the address so I still can’t sell using SD. I’ve delisted everything already.

None of the other platforms will work for me for similar reasons, plus lack of traffic, and price expectations way lower than my stuff usually sells for.

I’m going to stop selling, use / donate / throw away what I have now and just be more careful about what I buy from now on.

I got a booklet from my postman today - RM prices are going up on the 7th April, and the small parcel service that I always use is going up from £3.39 to £4.05.

So how much will it be on eBay?

I am not quite sure l have always used royal mail  home collect as long as it's been available.  They will also bring a label for people who don't have a printer.
Trying to find anything out on the eBay help is a complete waste of time, and l recently spoke to an eBay agent. That turned out to be a complete waste of time,  obviously my question was not on their script.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

We knew that. Our items are below 100 g.  Still doesn’t answer the question of which value ebay take into consideration new delivery terms.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I've never had so many email notifications about a topic in these forums as I have on this - dozens swamping my inbox since yesterday. How do I turn them off? 😀

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

In order to negate using this SIMPLE system you need to be able to meet these criteria..weigh  less than 100g and will it fit into a normal letter envelope and have a value of less than £10 If you don't meet all these criteria you will have to use the SIMPLE DELIVERY  method

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Right,i've just set up a Vinted account and will begin transferring all my used clothing stock over to there in the coming days - hopefully this will be the start of something far better AND "simpler".

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

As an experiment, why not transfer all your stock onto Vinted, but also leave it live on Greedbay to see how things perform?

Did you find you had to lower your prices to ‘fit in’ on V*inted?
