AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I too have removed all listings and will not post until eBay come to their senses and allow me to use whatever postal service I choose.

I agree totally. The lack of choice is forcing me to stop selling on eBay unless they change their plans.
Don’t forget that eBay are now making money on the insurance fee that they charge buyers which kind of replaces the final value fee that they used to charge sellers. They only have to pay out on insurance if something is lost or damaged, if the item is delivered successfully they’ve made money from that charge. Also, if you send something via Royal Mail Tracked 48 service without a signature, the item is insured for up to £100 make the eBay insurance fee totally unnecessary as the item would have been insured twice!

Items under £10 and weighing 100g or under (a letter basically)

It's actually worse than that @jjambadger27
Evri's terms and conditions state that there is no compensation for loss or damage to vinyl records.
Near the end of their lengthy exclusion list -
In the terms and conditions of SD, eBay states that it is up to the seller to ensure that the items he is selling can be sent with that courier.
So what do you do? If you block Evri, and only accept RM, your buyers will be charged a higher rate. Yet, if you send with Evri, you have no compensation cover for items which may have considerable value.
eBay have stated they will step in if items are lost or damaged, but I don't know if that will include items which are expressly excluded by the carrier. I would imagine they have a get-out clause for such cases.

I use thin card and plastic sleeve

I've decided to put my sales on hold from the *14th April - this will go for my purchases on here too - i'd like to suggest that everybody else do the same - ebay need a short sharp kick up the wotsits to make them actually take notice of the upset that they're causing.
*make that the 7th of April.

Totally agree with you, I've removed all my listings and unless eBay keep the current postage structure that's how it will remain, other online selling platforms are available.

Looks like ebay have blocked all forums to do with simple delivery. One you started ‘no longer selling etc’ stopped early this morning at page 14

Obviously don't like what they're hearing

Really?...the egreed dictatorship is in full flow this morning if so.

Wouldn’t let me reply so we used different heading but landed on this page above???. Now at p 15

Your post was the spurt I needed and I thank you for making it. I'm coming over to Ebid to join you as I'm fed up with the eBay strangulation policies. Just finding my feet!

I have messaged Eve Williams and Jamie lannone to highlight the issues with Simple Delivery, although I am not hopeful I will get a reply

Someone needs to point to Ebay that charging customers a buyer protection charge may be illegal if they are already covered under current consumer law and they fail to make that clear . I think it could even be mis-representation
I am not a legal expert but as Ebay have declared war on their long term loyal customers both sellers and buyers , its only fair that we fight back .
Worth contacting your local trading standards officer as eventually the mud might stick .
Even for sellers it effectively a charge as it lowers the potential sale value

That's what i need to do concentrate on there instead of trying to make sense of this debacle if i don't list i won't sell

Its always worth Emailing the Ebay CEO
I found this address on the internet and sent a few comments yesterday , so far it has not bounced back so a fair chance it could be correct , his name is Jamie Iannone

Buyers are only fully covered by consumer laws when buying from business sellers, not private sellers.
