FOR SOME REASON BEST KNOWN TO THEMSELVES EBAY DO NOT ALLOW SELLERS TO LEAVE BUYERS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK YET BUYER CAN LEAVE FOR SELLER. I UNFORTUNATELY HAVE FROM TIME TO TIME HAD NON PAYERS AND OBVIOUSLY THEY DESERVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BUT CAN’T LEAVE UNLESS UNDER “POSITIVE “ HEADING WHICH IS SIMPLY MISLEADING. IF YOU SEE BUYER HAD 100% FEEDBACK YOU ARE VERY UNLIKELY TO READ THROUGH TO SEE IF ANY ARE NEGATIVE 🙈🙈🙈🙈 IF YOU REPORT NON PAYER TO EBAY THEY CAN SEE YOUR FEEDBACK IS 100% TRUTHFUL. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE. DON’T FORGET NO SELLERS NO EBAY, YES OF COURSE THAT APPLIES TO BUYER. WE NEED TO BE WORKING ON LEVEL PLAYING FIELD

So you wish to cut back on the period for leaving feedback from 60/90 days to 30 days.
You also want to stop feedback being voluntary and it would have to work both ways - so a buyer negs a seller and once 30 days are up the buyer gets a positive, really?

Well you have that choice already, don’t you? I’ve never had anyone complain about something and not leave bad feedback, some people are just like that! Rather than reach a resolution they’d rather just leave a spiteful comment.

Your suggestion takes my choice away. At the moment I neither complain nor leave bad feedback, that would change if ebay did as you suggest.
Also, the laws are changing regarding online reviews, which includes feedback, your suggestion might be against those new laws.

plpmr - where did I say I want the positive to overide a negative already left?! That makes no sense at all.
I said if a buyer hasn't left a negative within 30 days they are most likely very happy with their order and not interested in leaving feedback. Why should the feedback system be more in favour of damaging someones reputation, just because most people don't bother to leave a comment?
Having an automatic feedback that kicks in after a month just like Vinted have is much fairer as it balances out the overall sales percentages.
Why would you not want that kind of system if you are a seller??
Cutting the period back from 60/90 days (I think it's 60) is not such a bad idea as anyone who buys regularly on ebay would likely have forgotten how that transaction went anyway.
papso22 - No it isn't taking your choice away. You have the choice to leave feedback whether you are happy or not. A seller doesn't have that privilege when they encounter a dishonest buyer, despite most of us being decent, honest people.
Way too many buyers are now abusing this system to steal from sellers.
I really don't understand the negative mentality of some of you. You appear to be more in favour of being able to damage someones reputation rather than have a fairer system across the board.

its all in fav of the buyer now

On the back of a buyer bidding £1160 then ignoring me and not turning up to collect I, reasonably, wanted to leave negative feedback. Both because it was a fair response and to warn other sellers. I can't, and I feel this is ridiculous. Didn't used to be like this, and so now, after over 20 years of ebay use I'm out.

That's a shame, but I totally understand and agree with you it's so wrong

The other thing I find really annoying is that for some reason on the recent feedback summary at the bottom of my listings, ebay choose to post my only bad feedback at the top of the list. I've had plenty of excellent feedback since, but no, they go with the negative. Really not helpful!

Indeed depending on what setting is chosen your single neg is at the top but if most recent feedback is chosen then you have 10 positives received after you got hit with the neg - one wonders just how long they keep the neg at the top?

Ebay is finished as a worthwhile entity, the absolute horror stories that are happening daily are shocking.
24-09-2024 1:41 AM
They should if it is a policy violation, ie. postive feedback containing negative comments against a buyer.
24-09-2024 2:14 AM
maybe a violation but it should be made fair then it wouldn't happen

I really don't get why Ebay changed things to "most relevant" and "most recent".
Most recent is all i really wish to see.
What does "relevant" actually mean on planet bay ?.
Why am i now wasting my time/life constantly clicking on things to get to where i want to be,a place i used to be able to get to very easily.
The time i waste doing that means i am not using that time browsing potential goodies, possibly buying (fewer kerchings, less revenue).Quack quack oops !.
Is it just another case of the tech dept making constant unnecessary changes to stay employed ?.
"improvements" are often not what they purport to be 🤐

I actually couldn't of said it better myself, 100% agree with you

"What does "relevant" actually mean on planet bay ?."
I've said it in the past that what is relevant to a buyer is how good a seller is, so having a setting that basically hides bad feedback is of no use.
To many unnecessary changes usually meaning many clicks rather than one click, while problems exist that need attention.

yes very frustrating
ive taken to leaving possitive but
when you are allowed to type in i
leave feedback accordingly
IE in capital letters
im working on everyone sees the positive feedback section
and i can write what i want ? NOT GOOD THINGS lol
probally naughty but you gotta Vent somehow
24-09-2024 7:28 PM
Leaving negative comments on green dots is not just naughty but a policy violation.

knew it would be lol but what to do when your letdown by the site ?

Can I ask the mentors on here - What would you do in this situation to warn other sellers?
I have had 2 buyers this week, both with very similar usernames - 4 letters, dash, 4 numbers - both Asian males going by the names, both ordered mid-range skincare/perfume, both delivered to very typically English womens names and addresses at different parts of the UK to where their accounts are registered.
Both opened a return yesterday, one falsely claiming the wrong item was sent (I keep photographic records of every order as I'm packing it now so know exactly what goes in each parcel, although I know that is something ebay can't take my word for!) the other claiming they ordered the wrong item.
As a registered business seller I have had to cover postage each way for these returns so they have cost me over £15 in postage & packaging.
One of these buyers (the buyer claiming he ordered the wrong item) has just ordred the exact same item last night, straight after starting the return. This time delivery is to another typically British named woman in another part of the UK. The first was delivered to Wolverhampton, this one is apparently going to Portsmouth.
I strongly suspect the items that will be returned will not be what was sent. I also suspect that if I was silly enough to post the second identical order, I would be scammed again.
I spoke to ebay this morning who have apparently put a note on the mans account to keep an eye out for any suspicious behaviour.
This account was only opened in July this year, but he already has almost 70 feedback as a buyer (we know a lot of sellers only leave feedback once they have received it from a buyer so the real number of orders will be much higher)
eBay can do nothing at this stage to protect other sellers from what I highly suspect (from experience) will be a large spate of similar fraudulent transactions.
Apart from it being 'in the rules' what is so bad about trying to warn other sellers before they too get scammed and lose their hard-earned money?
