Misleading information on payout page

I have just initiated a payout from available funds. This is what it says on the payout message.

FAQs

When will my funds be available?

Regardless of how your buyer pays, funds are typically available for payouts within 1 working days of order confirmation, unless subject to a hold.

This is clearly wrong for private sellers.

Incidentally, I sent the package by tracked RM and it got me thinking.

2 days sounds fine. But when you take into account the time it takes the buyer to pay, then the visit to the post office, then the delivery time, then the 2 days wait, it can take up to 9 days or more to get paid after purchase even with tracked delivery. Is it worth it?

Re: Misleading information on payout page

If it still says 'order confirmation' on any communication with private accounts, it's clearly wrong.

Re: Misleading information on payout page

Where are you seeing that?

Are you looking at the business seller section of the guidance?

eBay's guidance page has been split into business and private seller information:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814&st=3&pos=1&qu...

For private sellers, payments are no longer available within 1 day of order confirmation for private sellers.

It's 2 days after delivery confirmation or 14 days if no delivery confirmation, or if the order value is below £10 and the buyer leaves positive feedback the payment will be released within 24hrs.

Re: Misleading information on payout page

I'm not looking at guidance. It says it in the email and the message I received immediately after initiating  a payment.

"It's "typically" 2 days after delivery confirmation or 14 days if no delivery confirmation,

Tut tut. You forgot the all important typically.

If you've initiated the payout then it's no longer being held and that info should be correct then.

Badly worded though, as with so much ebay  communication!

Agreed, it does sound like that phrasing needs updating if it's telling you that.

Hi @jonathachamberlai-97

Can you PM me a screenshot of the email and the order ID so I can send it over to the site team to review.

Thanks,

Dave

Re: Misleading information on payout page

Hi @jonathachamberlai-97

Thats no problem. If you click on my name above, you should see an option to send message on the right side of the next page. Just click that and send me the item number of the sold item and I'll get it looked into.

Thanks,

Dave
