I think I can claim a new record.
The customer ordered an item on the 1st October - postage purchased with Royal Mail on the ebay page and posted on the 1st October.
A late delivery list arrived for orders received upto the 30th September but the October item was on the list.
I thought that it would be a simple matter to deal with - a quick phone call to eBay should resolve the problem.
Five phone calls later I was still being told the item could be removed as it was a September order despite the fact that the screen shows October. Eventually I tried to use the online form to ask for the late delivery to be removed but within minutes the answer was no.
I then had a thought - if the order was on the 30th Sept but after our cut off time it did not need posting on the 30th September anyway.
I made yet another phone call - glad ebay are paying- to ask what time the order was paid for on the 30th September and I was told "it was an October order". I pointed out that her previous colleague had argued with me that it was a September order and that 4 others had also refused to remove.
To my surprise I was told I am removing the defect as it should never have been there!
If you are told an incorrect "late delivery" cannot be removed don't give up just keep trying
