Hello
I sold an item at a good price, packed it really well as it was heavy. It all took a long time to get this listed and down to the Post office. We need the money too.
It arrives at the sellers depot for collection but seller does not respond to any ebay messages or collect.
A family member contacts the buyer to inquire about an item that they are selling on their account and they
respond to say they can post their item in the morning. So this buyer is active on ebay and able to get to a post office! Not a great way to find out, but time ticks on. My family member apologised for this method. At least we now know.
Ebay AI/computer surly knows the buyer is online and a parcel is waiting and that they have not ebay messaged me the seller. Should the buyer not get a firmer warning to go and collect or contact me, else their account will be restricted?
A family member of mine had an accounts funds frozen by Ebay AI for simply sharing details for a courier in ebay messages in effort to complete a sale. : / Yet this type of neglect is overlooked?
Any help or thoughts on what to do would be appreciated.
Thank you.

The item will be returned to you after approx. 2 weeks if not collected.
At the moment you have the funds from the sale. So just wait and see if it is returned by the Courier with the reason 'not collected'.
All the Best.

You mean it should be returned! That does not necessarily happen (only in a perfect world!) and there should be some kind of penalty for not collecting.

Please don't worry! eBay count attempted delivery and uncollected from depot items as 'delivered'. You have done your job and need do nothing more. The Buyer cannot open an Item Not Received Case in this instance.
As a courtesy - if the item were returned to me in original condition -I would refund the Item Price (less the postage) and relist it. In this case I would store it packed and ready to go for the next Buyer!
If the Buyer was polite and gave a good reason for the mix-up, I would let them pay again. If they didn't, I would add them to my Blocked List.

Thank you for your responses.
With fair warnings. maybe 10 warnings, 1 a day, to email and also text.
if the user is active on the account and they still fail to respond to this automation
ebay computer should block the seller, site wide, on all their accounts for a set amount of time.
And the courier systems, evri, royal mail and all couriers should restrict deliveries to the buyers home address only, for 3 months, once they get back to buying so to prevent them and also teach them that knowingly restricting a valuable locker or space at a small depot is not acceptable, especially with no coms and while selling and talking on ebay within other listings.
