Issue with sold item discovered while packing, have msged buyer to resolve but no response

Hi, I sold a camera, the lot consisted of the camera itself, the original box and instructions and also a soft pouch that I believe a previous owner had bought separately (as it wasn't branded and the camera wouldn't fit properly in its original box with the case included.)  When I came to pack it I couldn't find the soft case so I msged the buyer offering to send the camera anyway but give them a £10 partial refund for the missing case (which seemed a fair discount to me in the circumstances, possibly too generous if anything.)

 

This was yesterday but unfortunately the buyer hasn't responded and now the item is overdue for despatch.  So do I just send the camera anyway and give them the partial refund on the basis that they'll probably be happy with that, or just cancel the order and relist the camera without any mention of the missing case this time?  I just want to do the right thing by the buyer really.

Phew buyer finally got in touch and they seem happy with solution (actually not sure they even wanted the partial refund, but since I already offered it I'm not going to try and get out of it now.)  So will be able to send today.

It's tricky.   You could cancel/refund and relist with correct description but invite buyer to buy again.   Explain you only did it this way because ebay were putting pressure on you to dispatch.

Thanks yeah, if I do cancel and relist I'll definitely explain the reason behind it and make sure they receive a link to the new listing.  Just a matter of deciding if that's better than sending anyway without making contact.
