Please help. I have sold my motorcycle but the buyer is in South of Ireland and I am in England. They want to arrange collection (my ad said collection only). I am unable to invoice without adding postage but there doesn't appear to be an option under postage for collection as the system is insisting on me adding it in. How do I send the invoice? Does e-bay now automatically send and invoice? I haven't sold on here for a while so am finding this confusing. Any guidance would be appreciated.

As it was a motor vehicle there is no option to pay online other than bank transfer or cash on collection.
Although the buyer has no protection under Ebays MBG (as motor vehicles are not covered) it is still possible for the buyer to do a chargeback later.Could get very complicated.

Just of intetest, as the buyer lives in Southern Ireland which is in the EU and you're in UK, how does the buyer pay the import duties / VAT etc?

That's just part of "Could get very complicated" 😉

Try asking on the ebay 'motors' board... ? 🙂

Thanks Roger. It was the issuing of invoice that was the problem. Apparently it is a known problem with the ebay system and I have been added to some list of people affected. I spent over an hour on their chat and ended up with the sale cancelled and the fee refunded! It doesn't help the watchers who may have been interested as the sale ended the listing early. Spitting feathers doesn't cover it.

Burying my head in the sand on that one. He was meant to collect. Maybe he was going to take it to NI and then ride it down? No idea. Not a problem now as it has all been cancelled.
