Guernsey / Jersey Different Postage Rates?

I have just had an order for Jersey, but the postage rate the buyer was charged was the one that I use for Rest of World destinations. 

I have looked at my Postage Policy for the weight, and nowhere can I see why this should be happening.

The Guernsey postage rate is correct (same as rest of UK)

I checked a couple of different sellers and it's the same for them - Guernsey rate the same as UK, Jersey rate was the International Tracked price.

I am guessing this is an eBay error?

maybe something to do with eBay classing jersey as a “non eu country”

Looks like it’s just unlucky if you happen to live in Jersey.

Oddly enough, eBay applies the correct UK postage for Guernsey without any issues, but Jersey gets lumped in with the rest of the world for some reason.

Oh well—100,000 fewer people to sell to.

I suppose the problem will quietly die away in a forgotten corner of eBay’s backend, never to be fixed by whoever programmed it wrong in the first place.

I’ll report it anyway, for all the good it’ll do.
